1,000 yard back: Blake Corum and Hassan Haskins in good company
Not sorry for the clickbait title.
It's easy to forget that after Mike Hart's 4 consecutive 1,000 yard seasons, we went through a significant dryspell of running backs. Corum has eclipsed 1,000 exactly 2/3 of the way through the regular season, making him the 2nd RB in two consecutive seasons to do so. The last time we had two different running backs go four figures in back to back seasons was back when I graduated high school. 2003-2004, Chris Perry and Mike Hart each went over 1k.
This stat is worth noting IME because it represents the fact that this team seems to have taken on a real identity that feels more Harbaugh-esque, and more Michigan, than past teams.

This team is so very like what Harbaugh had toward the end at Stanford, just with waaaaaay more speed. And the ceiling in years ahead is way, way higher.

Hart was injured in 2005 and didn't sniff 1,000 yards. He made up for it in 2006 and 2007.

Those back-to-back Perry/Hart years were not just 1,000 yard seasons, they were great RB seasons. Perry won the Doak Walker and B1G MVP awards in 2003 and Hart was B1G freshman of the year and had 3 games of over 200 yards in 2004.

If I am a big time RB recruit I would think it would make sense to have Michigan high on my list.

Important to keep in mind that out of everyone Blake is #4 in rushing yds and #2 in TD's while playing 3qtrs or less in half of his games so far.

I thought Hart was under 1000 in 05 due to injury? Which made his record all the more impressive
