I assume Seth is talking to people and putting things together from that.
...and no.

Definitely maybe

possibly probable

Perhaps, indeed...
I have no idea, but Jeter participated in Michigan's Pro Day:

Seems like he both participated in pro day and is also participating in spring practice, and is also possibly exploring a transfer (?).
No inside info, but he just seems super undecided.
Just making stuff up now: Maybe he didn't want to continue to come off the bench and not get a lot of snaps, so he planned on moving on one way or the other, then now that Hinton declared the staff is trying to re-recruit him to stay.
Don't understand the downvote, ldevon1. Seems like a legitimate question.
Not knowing gives me the Jeters.
247 has been pretty quiet this spring. Was thinking about canceling but I'd like to keep my Paramount + subscription until Jackass Forever comes out.

It came out yesterday on there.

It’s a hoot. Nice mix of most of the old crew (Bam wouldn’t commit to staying sober) and some new faces cutting their teeth. 5 out of 5 stars.

So you read the article, which said
that appears to have changed on Monday as two sources independently verified that not only was Donovan Jeter at Schembechler Hall, he was also on the practice field, too. It turns out that Jeter was looking towards the portal route for his final year but ultimately decided to return to the program next season.
And you're not sure if he is coming back or not?

Are you sure what he's doing?

He is planning on playing for Michigan on Saturday’s and an NFL squad on Sunday’s. He has not signed with an agent, so everything is on the up and up. Also heard he might drive Uber on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s while driving Lyft on Wednesday’s and Friday’s. Leaving Monday open for a possible chance at driving DoorDash. If all that fails he may go around telling women He’s Derek Jeter and smashing some of the finest women in the world and afterwards sending them a fruit basket and a signed baseball. So essentially he’s keeping all options on the table.

He's also competing with Michael Barrett for the starting QB position. Busy guy!

This is my favorite thing I've seen posted today. Do more this.
Also, this particular piece of Derek Jeter lore has always been so hilarious to me. For anyone unfamiliar with the reference, go here.

I have a question that is more tactical. If, as the spring update suggests, we may not have the edge rushers we've had for 5+ years..certainly not last year.. can that be made up for by great blitzing linebackers? In other words, ideally you get pressure with your front 4, but if the edges can just contain and put a little pressure, can we not shoot the gaps with great LBs?
osu many years ago, and msu more recently did this, i feel. I'm not an X's and O's guy in football, so its more just what i observed. but msu's LBs caused complete havoc for us. Even georgia this year had LBs killing our guys all over the field.
I'm not sure if those types of LBs exist on the roster (mcgregor/colson?) but could that be where we bring pressure from this year, rather than expecting it on the edge?

Where's 'Space Pope (oops, Coyote) when we need his expertise?

The way to make it work is how the Ravens do it, which is their edge rushers are so strong that they can reliably push an offensive tackle into the pocket and create a squeeze on the QB. Mike Danna used that style to dominate the MAC level and he was effective at the Big Ten level. It's not the same thing as being able to Uche around guys, however, and is less effective against double-teams. There's nothing like winning a speed rush cleanly, because there's no QB who can throw on-platform when he's being chased, and a hit is a virtual guarantee if the ball isn't out immediately. The squeeze works as long as the rest of your DL is consistently winning together. It's very effective against shorter QBs and rushing QBs since there's no escape but to get rid of it (or have your tackles hold like mofos). If you're facing a big tall QB however that pocket can get mighty small before he has to care. The way to make up for that is to blitz with the LBs more and start dropping the edge guys into the pattern so they can't get comfortable in their reads. Michigan has LBs like Colson who can be really effective as edge rushers, so I expect the plan is to do a lot of that. It's not like Colson is that great in coverage anyways.

Lets not be too harsh on a true freshman LB, esp in a complex defense...One would expect him to get better and better at coverage this year and beyond. Unless you've seen something that makes you think he's not likely to get there?

Current players haven't seen Jeter at practice.
This is all too strange then. Seth what’s the scoop.
