Providence won. Memphis is up big at the half on Boise St. They are a better team without Bates. Baylor up big at the half as well. Waiting on the TN/Longwood and Iowa/Richmond games to come on.
Brad Nessler used to be an effective football/basketball double threat. He is still very good at football but should stick to that. The guy will put you to sleep in a basketball game.
I'm still not convinced Brad Nessler and Chuck Woolery aren't the same person.
Agree that Brad/Chuck is better suited for football and game shows versus hoops. But calling "two and two" games in the same day isn't necessarily easy on Brad/Chuck's voice either.

I guess it doesn’t help that the last two games I heard him do were this snooze fest and Michigan v. Houston in 2018. Two of the most boring basketball games ever played (with 1.8 seconds exception).

Honestly for people like me just a combination of how they have looked the last couple months and then not thinking the 1-4 seeds are as good as the other regions. But I can already tell I've made a mistake probably. Though it's Iowa's offense sucking in this game not their defense, that's new.
Conference tournament results are vastly overrated by the general public. A lot probably didn't pay much attention to college basketball until a week ago -- thus the blubbering about Indiana being in the play-in game instead of Michigan -- and go with the team they see winning right now.
Well like i said I also wasn't enamored with the 1-4 seeds in that region either. So it wasn't just about Iowa's play. And let's give Iowa a little more credit they finished the regular season hot too, it wasn't just the conference tournament.
Sure, I was just speaking generally, not to your prediction process. For all I know you might watch more basketball than I do. I just know that hot conference-tourney teams tend to be hot bracket picks and it often backfires
Thankfully I decided to hedge my bet at halftime on Richmond and came out pretty well, that could have sucked!
Of course Iowa not even cracking 30 offensively despite looking unstoppable offensively the last whatever many games. Lol my gamble on tournament Iowa is already looking like it was pure madness. Who am I kidding it definitely was, lol.

Making people like me look foolish for thinking tournament Iowa this year would be any different.
Them struggling should actually be expected. I don't believe they have advanced past the first week of the tournament once in Fran McCaffery's tenure (he's been at Iowa at least 10 years), and he's had better, more talented teams than this one. I personally don't have them going past the first weekend in any of my brackets.
They're certainly good enough to make it to Week 2, but until they actually do, I'm not picking them to do it.
F. McCaffery is 4-5 in tournament games at Iowa with 3 games of the 9 going into OT. Has won every first-round game except 2014 when they lost to TN. However, he has never advanced to the Sweet 16.
My point exactly. He's had plenty of good, talented teams. I'm not sure if any were ever good enough to win a title, but certainly contend for a Final Four if it was playing its best game. But his teams seem to always go out like a fart in the wind when the tournament rolls around.
Iowa’s problem under McCaffrey is they always seem allergic to defense and defense is important in the tournament
Honestly this Iowa team looks like they at least try on defense at times. If their offense is cooking really all they need to be is mediocre defensively. I am not going to call complete doom on my bracket yet before seeing the 1-4 seeds in that region play but in hindsight should have gone with my initial thought which was Kansas. I just didn't want to have 3 one seeds in my Final Four.
Yeah I know all the metrics love Iowa this year, but good grief this team is terrible on defense.
Honestly if Iowa loses this game it's because their offense didn't show up and that would be a little unexpected. Really inexplicably bad offense today from a team that looked like a machine offensively down the stretch. But regardless tournament Iowa is never to be trusted, past years I had abided by that principle and never put them past round 2. Will return to that for future tournaments.

If you would have told me Richmond would have 56 points with under 5 left I would expected Iowa to be up 20. Just uncharacteristically awful offense from Iowa today. Very little ball movement all game.
I've seen at least 10 Iowa drives to the hoop where someone chucks up a contested 5-footer that misses.
Iowa better run that play to Murray on every possession the rest of the game.
