Hello: Brooks Bahr
Damn it. Beat me to it.
Ha! I live like a stones throw from Loyola Academy. I'll check him out this fall.
Fitz's kids all go there...small upset that he didn't end up in Evanston.

LA is a very strong Jesuit high school so I can see the draw for people in the area. Evanston High School is no slouch either, but it’s a public school that lives in the shadow of New Trier for public school reputation.
Sorry, I meant...end up at Northwestern, considering Pat Fitzgerald's ties to LA.
A ton of Northwestern faculty and staff have kids there.
This has nothing to do with the kid and I hope he has a great career at Michigan but we are getting are asses kicked by Notre Dame right now in the midwest for elite 2023 guys and this staff must get some momentum going quickly.
We've had solid production from 3 and 4 stars on the edge as of late. I'll trust the coaches on this.
This seems to be a guy that Elston has prioritized for a while. He had been high on ND (though no offer) before Elston was hired at Michigan and I believe Bahr was one of his first offers when he was hired here. Lower rated kid for sure but he's got something that Elston really likes and likes enough to accept his commitment despite the number of edges on the board so far
Hmm, ND has exactly one recruit from the Midwest. Must be a rather soft kick.
He is basing it off of Tom Loy's balls. Neither Crystal Balls nor recruit ranking ever change in the last 11 months of the process so we are pretty much f*d and should just give up on 2023.
s/ in case that was necessary
I count two, but your point is quite valid.
Kid got offered by Iowa and Wisconsin in the last month. That's as good as 4 stars for me.
Wisconsin, Iowa and Cincinnati also offered. You might be overreacting.
Its early in the process to make that declaration but expect/get used to it unless/until ND starts losing. Marcus Freeman is an absolutely elite recruiter in a way nobody on Michigan's staff is let alone Harbaugh. Its a not insignificant part of why he got the job.
It's also not a huge deal right now in the grand scheme of things. Michigan is good enough at recruiting and elite at player development that I believe an elite recruiting Notre Dame is a bigger threat to Ohio State than Michigan. Especially since we won't play them.
Whenever I see "momentum" in a WWW post about sports I lose some faith in the writer.
"This has nothing to do with the kid"
Seems it has something to do with the kid...
I've known Brooks since he was in elementary school (he was good friends with my son). Great kid.
North Shore, represent!
So do you pronounce his last name like your cousin from Boston?
I'm very curious where he ends up on the field. He's 6'6" 270 which seems a little tall to be DT, but he's a little bigger and less athletic than our DEs usually are, but he's also kinda OT shaped and Sherrone Moore was his co-lead recruiter?
He's listed at 6'6" so there's a good chance he's 6'4"-something "without shoes." Add 20+ pounds and he's a plausible 3T.
He's a big kid-bet he is 6'6". His bend/flex declares he is an excellent athlete-in relative terms. He will end up a four star. Folks can neg away on a 16 year old kid all they want-he is going to be just fine. And I agree with Elston on preferring more length on the interior.
Elston recruited him to be a 3T. Wants more length along the frontline.
I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with his athleticism. He played lacrosse for years, and has always moved really well.
Same here. Definitely too slow on the get off for a pass rusher but good size to be on the strong side
Wasn't one of the knocks on Aidan Hutchinson out of high school that he wasn't explosive on the snap?
Welcome Brooks, way to GoBlue!
Think he will be a future offensive lineman down the road?
Nope. It never occurred to me as I watched his highlights.
Welcome young man!
Nice 3 Tech. Plays physical. I really like that he always stays home, and stands his ground in his assigned area. Doesn't over pursue (I remember how that was a problem on defense a couple years ago, and boy did it burn sometimes). He is slender in the lower body. But give him to Ben Herbert for a couple years, and that can definitely be fixed.
Did I say I really like it that he stays home? You'll see in his highlights.
Coach Holecek loves him and gushes about him so I'll take that as a good sign.
Looks like a footbahr player
