We're both at 122 player appearances. The remarkable thing about this stat and tweet link I'm posting is UCLA is in the top 10 and Bama (though they only recently became an absolute NFL factory) and OSU are not

As others have mentioned, surprising that Bama and OSU are missing, while UCLA is on the list. It is fair to mention that the time scope here is long, and Bama and OSU have been on their current hot stretches for relatively short periods... but they're both long-running elite powers. Alabama produced Joe Namath, for example.
UCLA, LSU, and Nebraska are the surprising ones on here. Nebraska has had sustained periods of elite play, but a lot of their best players don't leap off the page as future Super Bowl participants. And UCLA has been up and down for the entire Super Bowl era. LSU is surprising for the relative brevity of their position in college football's elite.
But there it is. A lot of players. We have a great program.

i'd be curious what the numbers would be if they did a 'total years' of appearances, meaning for each year an alum was in the super bowl you'd get a point. brady, heck, he'd count for 114 years.

I think Miami is most surprising and really speaks to how much talent they put out in the 80s, 90s and early 2000s because they were not a good program in the 20 years of super bowls before and after that

Yeah I’m not super sure what that stat means. I guess I should be happy that we are putting great players into the nfl, but maybe disappointed that we haven’t won more championships with all of that talent? Hell, Nebraska is on that list….I don’t have to tell you when they last “won” a NC do I?

I would suspect it counts for 10 of 122 which I think is the proper way to count this. A guy who made it to a Super Bowl riding the bench shouldn't count the same as someone who's been there 10 times

Not so sure that recruits put a lot of emphasis on Super Bowl appearances as they do just getting to the NFL. The Super Bowl is more of a team accomplishment.
