Eagles sign Lavert Hill to their Practice Squad

Seems crazy to me he hasn't been able to nail down a roster spot anywhere. Sure, his athleticism holds him back and he can get handsy, but he had such a good college career to just be a practice team player.

I think your criticisms and user name kind of sum up his NFL potential, unfortunately.

Yeah, not to drag the guy with "athletically-limited corner who grabs receivers when beat" is sort of the opposite of what NFL teams are looking for. I do hope he can find a role because he was, at one point, pretty fast and good in coverage, but I'm not that surprised he's struggled to make the transition to the league.

He was pretty darn good here. But when you only closely follow one team you often forget that there are plenty of Lavert Hill-level players scattered throughout college football every year and only so many NFL roster spots.
Hope he sticks with the Eagles.

Good luck to him. Hopefully he can stick.

Good luck to him, hopefully he can work hard and get a roster spot.

Good for him.

As an Eagles fan, he might have a chance of sticking with us. Our team is downright pathetic this year, and our secondary is crap. We also happen to be in salary cap hell.
A cheap addition like Lavert Hill might be thrown into the fire just to see if he can make any kind of difference, since the season is already a lost cause (despite the NFC East being historically bad). If he gets toasted....well, who cares?

I have been shocked that it has taken this long for him to get a shot after all the CB's that went down in the NFL. I know he isn't Deon but he was a decent college CB.

Not tall/long, not fast, reputation for getting flagged ... that’s a lot to overcome.

LIked the guy. He had an INT vs. MSU last year. Just seemed like he was too quick to grab jersey vs. use catch up speed. There was a 4th down play vs. Army were he got flagged and gave them a 1st down. Army's WR should never be a threat so pulling the jersey on 4th down not good.
Maybe the coaching can help him
