“Non-Pro” Sports Cancelled - Does that Include College Football?

Anyone have any clarity on the new state order relative to college athletics? High school sports on hold for three weeks, but how does this apply to college sports in Michigan?

Oh I don't know how about the federal government providing aide to states to pay workers so that actual discussion can take place at the state level for the type of lockdowns needed to slow down the spread. The first lockdown here was actually very effective at slowing the spread on the first wave.

NittanyFan, experts have given us a strategy to curb this pandemic. They gave it to us in the spring. Unfortunately, we’ve had a lack of leadership with an administration that thinks they know more than qualified experts, AND a massive following who revolts against common sense strategies because they’ve been duped by fear tactics that has them convinced wearing masks and social distancing is nothing more than dictatorship.

Who knows. Science is not whitmer's strong suit.

The (Dr.) Abdul for Governor sign is still catching dust in my garage. There are a lot of party hardliners in my neighborhood but it's interesting how many of them have caught me out running or walking with the kids in the last few months and noted that they wish they had voted for him instead now. Hindsight 20/20 and all.

Ridiculous argument.

The pre-symptomatic and asymptomatic spread of the Covid virus are so thoroughly researched and proven that what you posted holds absolutely no water.

FWIW, here's your warning, Montana41 : keep posting covid misinformation nonsense such as that and you buy a ticket outta here.

Even though my county has had a mask mandatory order since July 1st, our covid rates are rising exponentially over the past month. Restaurants have been open at 50 percent capacity but I think the real reason for the sharp increase started with the college students in September having parties and get togethers off campus and this resulted in a sharp community spread. Now there's talk of shutting down everything and most of the hospitalizations and deaths have occurred with people over 80. I don't think these college age adults are going to stop their parties and they will continue to spread it to the community, so these shutdowns probably will not have much effect.
