Two Roster Questions
October 29th, 2019 at 7:06 PM ^
1. RS JR I believe?
2. Paye will be back.
October 29th, 2019 at 7:06 PM ^
Uche, Hawkins, Mike D will be leaving this year. Haven’t heard about Paye yet.
October 29th, 2019 at 7:11 PM ^
Hawkins, too?
October 29th, 2019 at 7:15 PM ^
Inside info or educated guess? Why Hawkins?
October 29th, 2019 at 7:16 PM ^
Mike Danna is a grad transfer so yeah he will be done after this year and where exactly is Hawkins going?
October 29th, 2019 at 7:16 PM ^
Are you a reliable insider or is this your opinion?? Not tryna be snarky, just wondering. Paye and uche not comin back next year would be huge losses..
October 29th, 2019 at 9:41 PM ^
You don’t have to be a reliable insider to know Dana is a grad transfer.
October 30th, 2019 at 8:07 AM ^
Danna.
October 29th, 2019 at 7:21 PM ^
Are you talking about the defensive tackle or the defensive end (in regards to Mike D.)?
October 29th, 2019 at 7:41 PM ^
"Hawkins" lol
October 29th, 2019 at 8:07 PM ^
No chance!
Oh, I saw the Air Force thread earlier. Where should we play them? London or somewhere in Germany as a first?
October 29th, 2019 at 8:41 PM ^
More croots in Germany...just sayin...
October 29th, 2019 at 8:44 PM ^
On point!
October 29th, 2019 at 9:12 PM ^
Thoughts on Uche's and/or Dwumfour's chances of returning?
October 29th, 2019 at 9:50 PM ^
Frankfurt would be perfect. And if they had an event to promote American football, they would draw from all over the EU, not just Germany.
October 29th, 2019 at 10:21 PM ^
if theyre dead set on playing a service academy (hopefully don brown doesnt quit) and doing so abroad, kaiserslautern could be cool. draw some personnel from landstuhl and ramstein. i think that stadium tops out at 50k though so if they want something closer in size to the big house or more modern then its london or munich
October 29th, 2019 at 11:38 PM ^
By playing over there Harbuagh is promoting our program to the Eastern Europeans. There are some big boys over there
October 29th, 2019 at 9:23 PM ^
I mean, I could see it. Certainly not NFL bound, but grad transfer over to Illinois or Minnesota or something if it looks like he's getting passed up.
October 29th, 2019 at 9:01 PM ^
Shut up, Commie

One roster answer.
#1: Josh Uche played 4 games as a true Freshman in 2016. Unfortunately, under the rules at the time, that means he used a season of eligibility...
However, the 4 games were the first 4 games of the season. Was he injured? I forget. If he was injured, he could apply for (and get) a Medical Redshirt if the NCAA is feeling generous on the day they review his paperwork.
At least that's how I understand it. The "4 game rule" for redshirting didn't start until the 2018 season.
October 29th, 2019 at 8:09 PM ^
Uche was injured during his freshman season, torn meniscus. He'll definitely get a medical redshirt.
October 29th, 2019 at 7:13 PM ^
Uche is the #7 OLB on Mel Kiper's draft board so he most likely is not coming back irrespective of eligibility.
October 30th, 2019 at 12:30 PM ^
Wouldn’t the #7 OLB be a 4th - 5th round pick?
October 30th, 2019 at 6:27 PM ^
Has Mel Kiper ever been wrong?
October 29th, 2019 at 7:22 PM ^
I'm more concerned about whether Ambry Thomas and Dwumfour come back, those positions are very thin
October 29th, 2019 at 7:30 PM ^
Both will. Ambry doesnt have enough tape and Dwumfour needs to seriously improve as a run defender. Uche is still raw, I highly doubt they leave.
October 29th, 2019 at 9:49 PM ^
Raw is irrelevant, Uche can rush the passer. If he wants to be drafted, he will be.
October 29th, 2019 at 9:05 PM ^
I know Kemp has stated this is his last year, but I really thought for most/all of last year he was referred to as a RS Sophomore
October 29th, 2019 at 9:45 PM ^
Kemp? I don’t know about that. He might have a hard time making an AAF team.

two roosters can be trouble. they'll fight and harass the hens if there's not enough.
October 29th, 2019 at 9:26 PM ^
One fox can quickly solve the two-rooster problem.

DL and OL usually enter draft after senior year, those who redshirt often stay for a 5th year. The NFL wants fully grown men DL / OL. There are exceptions but they are first rounders. Uche and Paye are not first rounders.
The only serious early entry candidates are Collins and DPJ. But DPJ might stay to finish his degree and get a full year of healthy play on tape.
October 29th, 2019 at 8:27 PM ^
We have 97 on the roster including the incoming 20 class. We have to slice about 12 by next fall. That's a lot of attrition from the junior and senior classes. My only issue with that is that all of the players are Harbaugh recruits by now and signing these huge classes mean upper classmen are leaving.
October 29th, 2019 at 10:38 PM ^
Why so many slot receivers on the roster? Who are the "big" receivers to replace the likes of Collins, DPJ?
Have to say I hope Collins leaves. The kid is a beast. I was at the OSU/UM last year and he was very impressive in person. Incredibly underutilized this year (so far....).
October 30th, 2019 at 6:25 AM ^
Kwity Paye will definitely be back
