Why Oh Why Can't We Live Like This
The more stats I look at the more I wonder why we can't we have this. It's so frustrating that we're just so bad in comparison. I want an explosive offense. I would love a semi-explosive offense. I want a school that true top tier talent wants to come to because they really believe we can win. I want to live like this!

Go root for OSU then, because you're not going to get this at Michigan. We still live in the "three yards and a cloud of dust" offense
September 23rd, 2019 at 2:36 PM ^
Pfft, I would gladly take 3 yards and a cloud of dust over whatever JH is trotting out there today.

Agree! I feel like we were down this road for a while and we got way too far away from it.

I have a BPON'er.

Back when we thought you could have integrity and be elite, we despised the wicked. Now that we have learned otherwise, we wish we were they. Seems appropriate.

Not that the larger point doesn't count, but they did play another game. And none of the teams OSU played against are particularly good (I guess Cincy is fine). By comparison, Michigan has now played 2 of their 3 games against squads that finished last year ranked, including one with the #1 offense AND defense in the country, on the road. Michigan's offense definitely needs to get better, but just raw comparisons feels a bit unreasonable.

You and god damned context.
I believe that we are supposed to panic and run around screaming.
The sky is falling.
Everything sucks.
Write about it repeatedly on a message board.
Apparently it's cathartic, or not.

Mid Tenn State, gave up 21..... Army (laughable) ... almost lost.... Wisconsin (also hadn't played anyone at all) .... and got smoked.
Wisconsin, while the toughest team we've played so far, is not that great of a team. They exposed what a lot of people knew about us.... Just bad.
September 23rd, 2019 at 3:03 PM ^
Wisconsin is the #5 team per SP+ with the #8 offense and #9 defense. Until they prove otherwise, they are a good team, IMO.

Thank you for making me laugh on this miserable Monday.

Uh.....schedule nothing but C-USA and MAC teams early on?

I agree about the not being able to live like this when you add the Arby's ad. Life is too short to eat Arby's...ever.

Because you have to post this, that's why.
Because there are malicious forces in the world that do job us on 4th downs because we have entitled fans who whine that we deserve something we haven't earned. Because we have blogs and fans that spit on 10win Lloydball because they're too dumb to understand The Horror isn't one game it's the WORST.DEFENSE.IN.SCHOOL.HISTORY for three consecutively worsening years, followed by a kit in Wolverine's clothes for another 4, followed by idiots who have proven their absolute inability to learn anything from any of this.
This is one game. Yeah, I'm mad at that performance, I'm madder that I bought the hype that the defense had only given up 7 points when not hamstrung by turnovers and an offense that ought to be... Yet, I'm maddest that there's no perspective. No ability to see one game to the next, these rollercoasters are a huge problem. There are no silver bullets, no single, "do this and win all the trophies forever". Am I willing to see my team cheat? No I'd rather root for an Ivy League team. If you're inclined to hire Urban, let me humbly request you just go roll tide, because football already has plenty of whores, it really doesn't need another.

Who gives a shit about running the ball? We need to fucking pass for more than 180 a game.
Good luck running Fields a ton. Who's the backup again?
September 23rd, 2019 at 3:01 PM ^
Was watching some highlights of him, he doesn't take many hits. Gets out of the way most of the time or into the end zone. If he does get hurt though you're relying on two transfers who don't have a ton of experience. Might be our only shot this year. All though, after watching Wisconsin ... we might get beat by Chugi-whatever his name is.

It is kinda sad, but I almost shocked UM's rush averages are even that high.
September 23rd, 2019 at 4:03 PM ^
Me too. What I gathered is Charbonnet is actually pretty good all things considered.
September 23rd, 2019 at 3:11 PM ^
We can easily have those numbers. Just give Urban a call.
September 23rd, 2019 at 3:15 PM ^
Seeing as how he can't even say Michigan even when on TV, I doubt he answers..... but there are other options for us to not have a completely dog poo offense....
September 23rd, 2019 at 4:47 PM ^
I like the way you think!!
September 23rd, 2019 at 3:13 PM ^
This just in: Ohio State is good at football. Michigan not as good. More to follow.

I think Urban Meyer explained the difference in the programs in that video of him breaking down film that was posted a few weeks ago. He said something like this is a player's game, not a coach's game. He also explained how he would ask the O and D coordinators who the best 11 athletes they had were and game plan for their best players. If that meant changing formations or schemes, so be it. Can anyone imaging JMFH changing his style to fit the best athletes on the team? Yeah, me neither. He will always think he's the smartest guy in the room even though the on field results keep proving otherwise.
September 23rd, 2019 at 3:40 PM ^
You do realize he said that in defense of Harbaugh having Dylan and Shae in on the same play? He also said he loved the offense we ran against Middle tennesee. I dont know what happened but that offense is gone for some reason.
September 23rd, 2019 at 3:56 PM ^
This is pure speculation, but my guess is that Middle Tennessee was Harbaugh allowing Gattis to call plays because it was a game we were supposed to win. What we've see since is Harbaugh not trusting his coaches to do their job in close games or ones where we aren't favored.
September 23rd, 2019 at 4:05 PM ^
I disagree. Harbaugh would never have thrown out a game plan like we had on Saturday. Army maybe but not that knuckle fucked rubbish we seen Saturday.
September 23rd, 2019 at 3:35 PM ^
You might look good in red, give it a try
September 23rd, 2019 at 4:40 PM ^
Because Harbaugh's kid is our running backs coach?
