It's like there's this weird pipeline between Ann Arbor and Morgantown.
Not that weird. A huge chunk of our wins, our stadium, and our rivalries were all constructed by a West Virginia guy.
Plus Don Nehlen coached under Bo for a few years before being hired there.
Well, the color schemes are pretty similar. Probably saves on clothing costs for the transfers.
Who do they get for Beilein?
Kyle Bosch
Mountaineers receive LeBron's high school diploma and an undisclosed bag of cash from the Cavs.
Okie dokie
That's not a bad landing spot. Was this a PT transfer?
Pretty much. He was buried on the depth chart here, and he didn't perform well when he did play, either.
In that case, landing somewhere decent bodes well for the DL.
I keep forgetting that's the Big12, now. It's been years and I'm still thinking its not a power5 school. Derp.
Rutger is in the BIG, would you consider that a P5 school? I don't.
Shoot, I still think of Penn State as being new to the BIG
Jones and I have mutual friend, whom he brought with him to visit Morgantown. Thought about posting this before it was announced to brag about how I have a “scoop”. But thought it would be bad form to post before jones could announce.
Reporting from the hollers of central West Virginia ...
... Morgantown is a pretty nice place to be. It's a typical college town in a very pretty part of the country. Pittsburgh is less than two hours up I-79, and the DC area is less than four hours away. It's not a big city like Miami or Austin, but it's nothing like the stereotype of West Virginia.
Also, West Virginians love their Mountaineers. There's really no other sports team in the state, unless you live on the west side and lean to the Thundering Herd of Marshall. During part of the year I live in central WV, halfway between Charleston and Morgantown. On football Saturdays the cars stream up I-79, WVU flags flying. The fans seem pretty realistic about WVU's role in the bigger college football picture: they celebrate the wins, they briefly mourn the losses and move on.
Best of luck to Mr. Jones in his new home!
I've been there. They love--LOVE--playing "Take Me Home, Country Roads" in any and all situations. Everything is named after Robert Byrd. And they also love to burn couches. I wasn't a fan, but to each his own!
Good luck Reuben!
