Rico Beard said on the radio today Donovan Peoples-Jones isn't playing this year

Is he just trolling or is there anything to this? I hope he's trolling but he sounded serious. I assumed whatever kept him out during the spring would be resolved by the time the season rolled around so this was news to me. Not trying to start a panic as it's odd an MSU insider would have this info but was curious if anyone knew what is going on and why these rumors seem to be out there.

There was conjecture from a Harbaugh press conference that Peoples Jones and Dwumfour could both be out for the year. Last I knew that take was squashed.

There is only one way to find out. Someone needs to go to the Peoples-Jones house and ask the family. I don't live near there, so I nominate MGrowOld to go there disguised as a postal worker. When the Peoples-Jones family comes to get their mail, ask on behalf of Marvin and the rest of the MGBLOG community if he is really out for the year like Rico says.

Are you crazy?  Bob Mueller is looking for work and I hear he's a top dog investigator.  He may not be able to reach a conclusion but he can be counted on to prepare a comprehensive report.  It may go something like this:  Peoples-Jones has suffered a (redacted) to his (redacted) which will affect his ability to (redacted) until at least (redacted).  The medical records appear to corroborate that (redacted).  Both parents were cautiously optimistic that (redacted) by (redacted).

Sam didn't necessarily squash this on WTKA this morning. He stated Rico's info could have came from people at Cass Tech. Sam did state that it was probably a "Big leap on May 3" to make this assumption. However, in his Sam way, he said he couldn't guarantee that Donovan will be 100% by the start of the season.

Sounds like something that won't sideline him for the season but maybe something that lingers, maybe keeps him from being a full go in every game.

Well for one, you're basing your information off of what Rico Beard said so consider the source. Right or wrong, consider the source.

Two, Sam said

He stated Rico's info could have came from people at Cass Tech.

That's not an affirmation of the information Rico provided. Just a theory as to where Rico got the info from. Squashing the idea that Sam told him and he's repeating it.

He also said

probably a "Big leap on May 3" to make this assumption.

Which actually downplays the long term severity of the injury as it currently stands and relates to football played in August/September.

 And finally, Sam said

he couldn't guarantee that Donovan will be 100% by the start of the season.

Per your title, Rico said "he won't play this year." Not being 100% by MTSU =/= not playing this year.

So your post title and subsequent "concern trolling" is not the same as Sam's comments on the situation.

Holy delusion batman. I didn't make any argument I asked a question about a rumor I heard because it came from someone in the Detroit media. While the morons on this site were busy calling me a concern troll it was substantiated Spath on twitter and Webb on his radio show. The only thing pathetic here is the people who have no idea how to handle any bit of news that they don't want to hear. So yeah snowflakes seems like an apt description.

Your argument was that people should call Webb a concern troll if they called you one. In a snotty, little baby way.

"Someone in the Detroit media" that everyone knows carries little to no weight when it comes to Michigan football.

Sam didn't substantiate it to the point of your title which said he "won't play all year." Spath said there are 4 months to work on it. Not that it was season ending.

Go to bed Robin. It's past your bedtime.
