In reality who could Michigan get to be a better HC?

Submitted by WeimyWoodson on December 29th, 2018 at 3:47 PM

I'm now onboard with the idea that Harbaugh is not the guy to get it done here, but who really could?  I feel like "eh this is kinda Michigan football, its not going to get better".  But really Michigan needs a coach who can come in here and revamp the offense.  No more of these FB dives, hand off to the running back to run up the gut for a year, slow tempo, delay of game when down like 30....

Not that Michigan would part ways but would would be a realistic coach to fix this mess because Saban and Dabo are not coming.

Someone not named Harbaugh. You any many others here act like if the HC job opened up at UM there would be no takers. Hell I would take Mullen, Herman, Peterson,Paterson, Campbell over JH. There are many coaches who do far more with less than Jimmy the savior. That is a proven fact, quit hiding your head in the sand. Harbaugh isn't even in the top 10 in college football imo. Money talks so don't act like JH is the only coach interested in Michigan. If that is the actual case, there are far deeper rooted problems than we as fans know.

You just may have a point clarkie.

"This is us", remember that next time you take a jab at the Iowa's, Minnesota's, Wisconsin's, and all the other average programs across the country. UM isn't anybody, damn sure far from elite. So just remember next time you criticize programs of that ilk, UM has become what you criticize.

This is us...UM football...nothing to really brag about, no signature wins, beat average teams, lose to elite programs, and no significant accomplishments in many many years. So yes I do agree..........FUCK!!!

do we need to keep changing coaches to match our expectation or change our expectations regardless of coach?

at some point comes down to calling your program as it is. not trying to be negative but since 1998... 4 coaches, results provide quite a bit of data.

Think of it like a mod on this blog though - leaving this thread spares me from having to delete multiple instances of it. Leaving this one gets it out of the way, whether or not you agree with the premise.

Personally, I am not on the "fire Harbaugh" train. I am definitely on the "PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF PETE HIRE AN OC THAT LIVES IN THE TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY" train, truth be told. I would much rather try that experiment first.

Now, threads which are thematically similar - either to this or other topics - will go just to avoid overlap, but leaving one to cover a topic usually works out better for all.

LSA...I am with you.  I would rather JH hire an offensive QB that is relevant and knows how to utilize the talent we have on the offensive side of the ball.

No my question to you is...after 4 years of this...do you think Harbaugh will actually do this?  I seriously think he might be delusional and is married to the idea that he wants to win like Bo did.

You need to lay out the expectations.  Sure offense sucked today, but they List 62-39 to osu. If anyone thinks the offense was the problem in that game I'd disagree.  No one can meet the expectations of the fan base.

Need to score, and score big in college football.  Game is set up for all sorts of offense advantages, even Don Brown has said hes been frustrated with that because his guys can't do what they used to.  If you don't have an elite offense you're screwed.

Look at OK, bad defense but in the playoff with an amazing offense.

Offer 20 million to Dabo. Cant hurt. We can afford it. Do whatever it takes to win. "Cheat" like the SEC, who cares? Gotta stay relevant and were simply not.
