Trace is overrated. He’s still solid but he’s nowhere near elite, not a game changer. He benefitted from having Barkley line up next to him virtually every snap and having an OC that knew what he was doing. Him and lewerke are pretty comparable. Below average arm strength and accuracy, average athleticism, most of their “big plays” were on scrambles and 50/50 balls. Guys like Denard or Braxton could run on predictable running plays. I put less stock into qbs who get their yards  exclusively from scrambles. Also consider that penn state had a bunch of weapons on offense last year and they were all upperclassmen. That takes a lot of attention off of mcsorely beating you with his legs.

It was apparent Bush was real when he chased down Saquon last year, but until the NFL combine I didn't fully understand what that meant.  As to Kiper, be aware that about 10 years ago he had Obi Ezeh high up on his draft board, at a time when people here at Mgoblog (can't remember who) wondered if someone else could be tried at that position.

Had some fun with the data... Clemson, Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, and Wisconsin are the only teams with 3 or more stars listed.

Top spot (number 1) is worth 50 pts, last spot (50th) is worth 1 pt:

Would love to see AJ Dillon wearing the maize and blue.  Prototypical Harbaugh running back, too bad our depth chart was too full to lure him in.

Why is Khaleke never considered for these lists?  Both him and Peppers proved that they play the most valuable, high profile position on the team and he had a better statistical year than Peppers.  Yes Peppers did more than play defense, he was a GREAT kick returner / fair catcher, and I’m not suggesting Khaleke is as athletic, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t equally as good on defense, his stats clearly suggest otherwise.

No need to make up excuses as to why Dillon flipped. It wasn't our depth chart that made him flip. Michigan wanted to use him as a LB when clearly he is a stud RB. Also he decommitted amid PEAK Najee Harris hype. Michigan fans were showing him no love and focusing 10000% on getting Najee

I'm as encouraged by our omissions as I am by those that made the list.  There is still very little recognition for Khaleke Hudson or the best CB combo in the country (outside of PFF).

Yeah but I mean its not like ESPN could put 7 Michigan players in the Top 50.

Hill and Long will need to prove themselves this year. Our run defense is amazing but our secondary did get burned more than a few times last year

Im elated with 4/50. I think if they did a Top 100 then David Long and Lavert Hill would've surely made it along with Khaleke Hudson. Hill and Long are the top CB duo in the country

This list only heightens expectations. Im not going to say Big Ten Title and CFP appearance or bust but if we aren't AT LEAST 2nd place in the Big Ten East then Harbaugh will be under fire. Penn State wont be that good this year. MSU is not nearly as talented as OSU and Michigan. Wisconsin will coast again in their easy as Division.

Clemsons defense is going to be fucking insane. They have 3 NFL quality D Lineman that could've been drafted last year

Bama, Clemson, Georgia, OSU, Michigan. That seems like a realistic Top 5.
