| 24 weeks 4 days ago | Re: SAM |
Sam Webb, during today's recruiting roundup, attributed the recent recruitment of several SAM-types to information that has not yet been made public. (I'm paraphrasing.)
That would seem to indicate that there is something attrition-related afoot, rather than a sudden identification of need. |

I now look forward to Borges's presser as much as any other post during the week. |

Brian has done a lot of things right with this blog, but this may be my favorite. Thanks to all involved for bringing back an underrated piece of past gameday experiences. |

Hello: Ross Douglas, per Bill Greene on Twitter |
| 43 weeks 3 days ago | Very interesting that his |
Very interesting that his Scout profile lists interest in Michigan as "high," while everyone else is at "medium." This leads me to believe that it is based upon more than just the offer status and visit schedule. |
| 1 year 18 weeks ago | OT Taylor Decker |
He was previously an ND verbal and now listed as an OSU commit on Scout. I wonder how this impacts Diamond's decision. |

Speaking of Brandon Graham, I thought this Twitter exchange from immediately after the game was very interesting:
scbr3 (Stevie Brown): @BGraham54 y couldn't Hoke come when we were still there bra BGraham54 (Brandon Graham): @scbr3 yeah I know man I'm sick |
| 1 year 29 weeks ago | Best recruit since Jerod Ward in 1994. |
There are programs that recruit well but don't develop players during their time on campus. There are programs that develop players in good college players, but don't bring in the big time recruits and are eventually exposed. With Beilein and this staff, M has the chance to become one of those teams that both recruits high level players and maximizes their potential. This is BIG. |
| 1 year 35 weeks ago | I don't think we'd need |
I don't think he would necessarily need to see another commit for the depth chart to give him trouble. Michigan has got two of the top tackles (Manguson and Kalis, even if he projects at guard), an in-state sleeper like Braden, and -- if rumors are true -- one or two more OL coming in for this class. I think Elmer (and Diamond, for that matter) are looking for opportunities to play early. |
| 1 year 35 weeks ago | I guess I can understand it |
I guess I can understand it somewhat. With the OL class in 2012, he was facing stiff competition to see the field early. Tough to lose him, but I'd rather he leave the state if he isn't going blue. |

"Did I hit somebody? Did I strike somebody?" is just as ridiculous a statement as "Everybody murders." Thanks, Kelly. |

Counter-programming to Brian's appearance on WTKA, obviously. |
| 1 year 38 weeks ago | Serious question for anyone |
Serious question for anyone who listens to Michigan Insider on WTKA: At the 12:29 mark of that clip, is that frequent caller Dennis? If so, he's either a) not putting on an act when he calls in, or b) been in character for over 35 years. |

Meridian Pint or RedRocks on 11th Street in Columbia Heights. It shouldn't be more than a 10 minute cab ride, and you'll get to experience a part of DC that isn't normally frequented by out-of-towers. Meridian Pint is high end bar food and great beers. RedRocks pizza is very good. Afterwards, walk two blocks south for a beer on the patio at Wonderland Ballroom. |

Feels good to see Michigan listed in that group. As a reminder, a quote from Sam's article a week ago:

| 1 year 42 weeks ago | I have no problem with the |
I have no problem with the staff choosing Pipkins over Schutt, if that's indeed what happened. While it may be a nice confirmatory measure, I sure hope the staff doesn't recruit based upon a third party star system. Besides, the two are ranked so close that placing one over the other is likely subjective anyway. The unfortunate consequence is that Schutt could end up at Penn State or Wisconsin. |

And then He created a Denard, Hart, Arnett, Watkins, and Roundtree starting lineup for the Alabama game. And it was good. |
| 2 years 32 weeks ago | Slight correction... |
M-Wolverine is right that Sam stood by his gut feeling; however, Sam stated that he had not spoken to Dee yesterday or today. Sam mentioned that the Orlando Sentinel article had no impact on his gut feeling and that he would stand firm to his thoughts unless he heard it directly from Dee. |
| 2 years 33 weeks ago | There was a clear "break his |
There was a clear "break his leg" chant that came through the ESPNU broadcast. I'm pretty sure it occurred during Michigan's second offensive series, if someone wants to go back and look for it. Also, as mentioned, they were ecstatic when he fell back down after reaggravating the knee injury. |
| 2 years 33 weeks ago | Also have to remember that |
Also have to remember that the remaining Big Ten teams haven't had the luxury of facing our defense yet. |
| 2 years 33 weeks ago | This is intended to be a slam |
This is not intended to be a slam on Craig Ross, but given the breadth and depth that Brian shows during their shared segments on Thursdays, I really would like more dedicated time for just Sam, Ira, and Brian. |
| 2 years 37 weeks ago | As far as I can tell... |
As far as I can tell, the original poster did nothing but state what he heard on a news program that is known in the Detroit area and could have some credibility. Let's not bash him for doing this; even if we don't like the reported story. |
| 2 years 45 weeks ago | "To summarize them all, I |
"To summarize them all, I felt comfortable with all of them. I'm interested in all of them, and I like all the coaches." Pro forma answer, but a smart one. Sounds like he'd be a great add, especially given his offer list. #4 Guard in the country, according to Scout. |
| 2 years 45 weeks ago | His analysis is |
His analysis is bullshit. But I'll be as nervous for this game as I have been for any Rose Bowl. I'm as big a Rich Rod fan as exists amongst my circle of fans, and I worry what a loss in the opener (especially this opener) would mean. |
| 2 years 46 weeks ago | I understand the sentiment of |
I understand the sentiment of the post (2009-10 was an effing waste) and I agree that the short-term trajectory is downward, but most of the points in this post were just as relevant two days ago. I mean, even with the departure of Manny and Peedi, LLP was not going to be Demetrius Calip. If the opinion of some in April was "we're in for a tough 2010-11, but 'in Beilein we trust,'" that opinion should not have changed. It's essentially the same "scrappy", "hard-nosed", "gym rat", "couldn't touch the square with a step ladder" team it was always going to be, along with the same hope (or lack thereof) for the future. I, for one, will wait for Brundidge's decommit post before I panic. |

I'm okay with this if it turns out he was squeezed out of M's class by numbers. One can dream. |
