Any Recruiting Update on the Glenville duo?
I know not much is said about Marshon Lattimore and Erick Smith, and I now this recruiting only has a few more spots left, but is there any update on Lattimore and Smith? They're both still 100% predicitions to Ohio State on 247-Crystal Ball, but I know Ohio State's recruiting class is coming towards its end.

we'll have 4-5 next year (depending on Furman). There's a log-jam at corner, anyone know which would make the best safety?

I heard Hill mentioned a lot with saftey during his recruiting process. Im not completely sure, but he might be able to play some safety.
Besides him we currently have Wilson, Thomas, Clark, Furman and that's all I can think of off the top of my head.
That seems to be pretty thin. So besides Hill, I would think someone else could be moved over there. Maybe Dawson or Hollowell? I have no idea how their skill sets translate over there, but neither seem to in line to get a ton of playing time next year at CB(Hollowell more than Dawson as Dawson is a RS Freshman), so maybe another Avery type move to get them on the field.
Besides that, I would think Peppers could if he lives up to the hype, and if I'm not mistaken doesn't Wangler play some safety for his HS team? He's probably not ideal there, but it's an option.

Allen Gant

Yeah, you're thinking of Allen Gant. I thought he was too slow to play safety, and he moved down to SAM but never got on the field this year.

Too slow like the guys who can't run fast enough to do well.

Hollowell seems too small, Gant and Wangler too slow.

Hill is already a safety.
Hollowell would be a tiny, slow-ish safety, which is not a good combination.
Peppers has the physical ability, but he would still be very young.
Wangler is too slow to be a safety in college.
I would be looking at Raymon Taylor or Channing Stribling at safety if the current guys (Furman, Clark, Hill, Thomas, Wilson) can't get it done.

suprised me this year with his ability to hit. There were a couple games where he laid some solid hits, especially for his size.

I think he was the best hitter on the defensive side of the ball. I wouldn't mind seeing him get a shot at a deep safety role.

Thomas Gordon layed down some lumber this year back there. Desmond Morgan? Jake Ryan? Frank Clark?
Taylor can pop, but not like those guys.

has my vote for bringing the most thump...I love how he hits the gap. Taylor can bring it though.
I am pretty excited for the corner situation next year, Taylor and Blake are a solid duo.

Magnitude of impact wise they'd be above Taylor simply based on physics. I consider anything like this on a pound for pound basis. Gordon had some good hits. Nothing from Morgan or Ryan especially jumped out from what I can remember. I'm more impressed when Taylor comes flying up to hit Langford than if Frank Clark is to fill the hole against him.

Taylor would be a solid shift IF Peppers is ready to start as a true freshman. The only other scenario is Stribling or Hollowell make a big jump with this year worth of experience.

I doubt they come but man, stealing lattimore would be the ultimate "Fuck you" to OSU.

That may be true, but there's been talk that OSU might not be able to take both.

Saw these two play in the Ohio Division II championship game last week. Smith was by far the more impressive player - and someone we could certainly use. Smith consistently was in the right spot on the defensive side of the ball - provided help in coverage and was outstanding and deceptive in the return game. Lattimore had good speed, despite the snow on the field, and shut down his side of the field on the defensive side of the ball.
