Tuesday Night NCAA Football Open Thread
Well, folks, there is a game on tonight on ESPN2 at 8 PM...
It is a Sun Belt matchup - Louisiana-Lafayette versus Arkansas State. TeamRankings has the Red Wolves as a 2.5 point favorite with the over/under on points at 69.
Discuss, if you so choose.

Makes me glad to know I'm not the only CFB degenerate watching Sun Belt football on a Tuesday night.

The 10 points of the Ragin' Cajuns came at nearly at 6 yards per snap clip, and I think that is pretty good. They've held the Red Wolves to only 40 yards, but alas, the night is young.

Not that I think it will happen in the next 100,000 years but can you imagine how much it would SUCK if Michigan ever played a Tuesday night game at home?

I hope both teams are coming off bye weeks.

Arkansas State had a bye last Saturday (3 days ago). Louisiana-Lafayette actually had a tuesday game last week as well and a bye before that. Very strange that next weekend's slate of college football games has technically already begun.

Adds an extra element to the scheduling efforts of the conference slate when you have to make take into account these Tuesday and Wednesday games, since obviously any team playing during the middle of the week can't have a game the previous Saturday.
Obviously ESPN has an agreement with the Sun Belt but I wonder how involved they are with the scheduling process. I'd have to imagine the WWL has a pretty big hand in determining who gets funky mid-week TV time since it usually seems to be the better Sun Belt teams.

On the subject of college football as a whole, I was looking on ESPN.com for the schedule of games for Saturday to plan my channel surfing and couldn't help but look down the far right side where it says X tickets available starting at $X. Most of the games are in the $15 to $40 range. Even good games! You would think No. 1 Alabama squaring off against an upstart Tennessee at would at least command face value but they are even starting at $40.
I would say OSU is comparable ticketwise to Michigan and their night game against Penn St. is starting at $85 which I assume is face value. That is the most expensive game this week. I don't know if it makes me proud or pissed that I have to pay a lot more than other college fans to see our team play on a weekly basis.
