Obviously MSU-ND and Tenn-UF. USU-USC might be a good one too
September 21st, 2013 at 3:29 PM ^
Tenn is horrid. It is remarkable to think about a decade ago that was the best game of the SEC season almost annually and the best rivalry. MSU-ND is the best regionally at least, but its a pretty horrid slate. Tonights LSU-Auburn game would be fun 5 years ago but right now not so much despite Auburn's record. Stanford-AZ State I guess might be decent. Tough weekend for CFB.

Logic: Sparty wins today. We win in Nov, and it all works out concerning the strength of schedule argument. Plus, I can't root for ND ever except when they play Ohio -- and that is more a asteroid game any ways.

I think one of the tiebreakers is out of conf record so in theory should root for ND. Frankly I'd like to see ND put up 30+ win or lose just to shut up this elite defense meme. A ND loss at home makes our win look not that impressive.

I care about Michigan doing the best they can year in, and year out; most especially against ND, MSU and Ohio. If we do well, we will have a good season. We win the BIG or make the BIGCCG, we will go to the Citrus bowl or better which should always be a secondary goal.

I don't root for MSU for this simple reason: in-state recruiting is where it all starts, and they are our primary rival there. I don't want them to get off to a hot start that might help them land a recruit or two. Also, I'd rather play a demoralized MSU squad in EL than a fired-up team that thinks it's invincible.

VaTech just failed to score in OT. Marshall with 1st and 10 now, only needing points to get the win

Silly media contrivance made "the rivalry" seem even more boring than it is.

I didn't see what he said, but in his defense, the 1966 #1vs #2 game between the two was actually called "The Game of the Century".

The pan of the seats at Notre Dame Stadium would seem to indicate that the highest per capita concentration of bro-ness probably exists in South Bend today. Nice little introduction by Tim Brown though. NBC has to sell it somehow, I suppose.

Hoping ND wins by 20 today.

Don't get me wrong, I can't stand them, but they consistently take a bunch of 2 and 3 star guys and have them playing completely sound football. I wonder how long MSU will be able to hold on to Narduzzi

His stock will never be higher than this year. They lose 6 seniors after this season and get to play Oregon and Ohio State next year.
September 21st, 2013 at 3:51 PM ^
He's gone at the end of the year. If not a head coach han as a DC at somewhere like Texas..
September 21st, 2013 at 4:02 PM ^
At this point, he's ready to be a HC. He doesn't really need another DC position. He couldn't really prove himself any more at Texas, with its better players, than he can right now at MSU.

Starting at the 30 is the only way Sparty will ever score.\

September 21st, 2013 at 3:51 PM ^
Could not have asked for a better start for MSU. 3 and out, partial blocked punt but in ends in SPARTY NO.
September 21st, 2013 at 3:52 PM ^
The Spartans spartaned on that drive. The FG had an awful slice and excellent field position is wasted, allowing the Irish to forget all about the blocked punt.
