Regents approve baseball & softball Turf fields, massive field hockey renovations
Baseball should be played on grass. NFM
I agree, however, Michigan weather can be crummy and grass is too dificult to maintain and to try to control. Field turf is much easier and will allow for fewer cancellations.
not sure if serious...
Both the indoor track building and Ferry Field are being demolished in 2015. There will be a new indoor and outdoor track facility out by the Soccer and Tennis facilities.
Sadly good old Ferry Field is going to be turned into a parking lot. Cliff Keen is being demolished in 2017 and a new arena will be built. This all per the "Support" site on MGoBlue.com
/still bitter about being kicked and threatened with calling the police for running on the football practice field when the gate was open.
For running??? That's awful! I say we sue for assault and battery.
gross
Is David Brandon's title the "Donald R. Shepherd Director of Athletics"? That's how I read it, anyway...
Yep, it's one of Donald Shepherd's many, many endowments to the University. I swear, the guy has his name on half the jobs and/or buildings on South Campus alone.
I'm worried that they will do that at Fisher Stadium. That's just wrong.
Fortunately they can't do that at the softball field; the NCAA requires real dirt on a softball infield.
I can't imagine any baseball player worth his salt would want to spend his college career playing on a turf field. I suppose we'll see how this all works out...
