I think Lincoln wins at least one or two, but I'll be watching The Walking Dead so I guess I'll have to check here to see who wins what

I think the only nominated movie I've seen is Django Unchained.

What's the point? She'll just throw it up 10 minutes later.

any chance we get a recruit to pick us on the red carpet? if not, I'm not watching

I've only seen Argo so I can't make a reasoned argument on the Best Picture Award. I thought Argo was excellent. My wife and I have Django next on our wish list - tickets plus baby sitter make movie night relegated to special occasions.
How were the other Best Picture nominees?

"Hello" post.

I have to say, I'm actually interested for the first time ever this year, because I've actaully seen every major movie that was nominated for all of the big stuff. IMO- Argo all the way- it was the best I saw this year along with Skyfall and Les Miz behind it

I did see it, and I loved it. BUT that's not saying much because I love practically every action movie or movie like that. I read "No Easy Day" (the book about the mission) about a week before I saw the movie, so I was pretty pumped on the whole thing. But yes, I did like it
February 24th, 2013 at 9:19 PM ^
was an interview with the author of "No Easy Day." Seems the film was pretty accurate.

I didn't really get an action movie vibe from zero dark thirty...I guess it moved too slow for me. I haven't liked very many of the Middle East-based thrillers in recent years (ie hurt locker, syriana), so maybe that has something to do with why I am not anxious to see Argo.
At the same time, I did appreciate zero dark thirty for not being very hollywood. I thought the Osama death scene was perfectly done (didn't make it overly dramatic). But I found the story leading up to it to be boring.

Argo should win tonight.
Daniel Day Lewis wins yet again.
Jennifer Lawrence gets her first statute
Christopher Waltz wins for playing the same character he played in Inglorious Bastards
Anne Hathaway wins for 15 minutes of Les Mis.

1 for 1.

The Waltz characters are similar because they are supposed to be related. The character in Django is supposed to be the great grandfather of the character in Inglorious. I believe Tarantino is going to make another film with a character of the same lineage in between the two.

Unfortunately, one of the only movies I didn't see was Argo. I can't say why, but it just doesn't interest me.
Loved Lincoln.

I'm wearing a t-shirt by something called "Blue 84" that says "Sugar Bowl Champs 2012", old socks, and the shortest and oldest pair of gym shorts I own.

Ragged gym shorts and a ralph lauren t-shirt. Sporting an elegant, yet casual, $30 Timex on the wrist.

Also, I didn't really enjoy Les Mis very much. Everything was good -- singing, scenes, costumes, cast, etc. but I just could not get behind the story.

At first glance, I thought you said "Les Miles".
Actually, Les Miles should win an Oscar. Just for being his entertaining self.
