Freep: McDowell, Harris and Marshall all visiting this weekend, not Webb
Three of the top five in-state players in the 2014 class will be on campus (No. 2, Detroit Cass Tech defensive back Damon Webb, a verbal commitment to Ohio State, and No. 4, Sturgis quarterback Chance Stewart, a verbal Wisconsin commit at a position Michigan has completed recruiting). No. 1, Detroit Loyola defensive end Malik McDowell, has been a regular visitor to campus and will bring his entire family along Sunday.

but posting things people don't want to hear or admit often gets negged. A few posts back, someone said Michigan is a much better school. That's likely true, but by no means is Ohio a horrible school unless you judge the whole institution through your hatred of the FB program.

Was that true 12 months ago when they were 6-7 and we'd just been the only BIG school to win a BCS bowl? Making the decision on just one year of data is shortsighted, and no, Ohio State is not currently the better football program. Over the last two years UM is 19-6, Ohio State is 18-7, and that was with UM square pegging round holes in dealing with RichRod's recruiting blunders. Urban walked into a full cupboard this year, and barely scraped out many close victories. Both teams will be better this year, but to say Ohio is the better program is false.

Just to play devil's advocate...
1. Ohio State is not "that bad" of a school
2. Ohio State has a lot more recent tradition (9 BCS appearances to 5)
3. Brady Hoke has bailed on schools for better jobs
4. OSU campus is a pretty easy drive (it's not like he is playing so far his family couldn't hop in a car Saturday morning to see him play Saturday afternoon)

if we are both seeing the same brady hoke, i dont think he is going anywhere. he has said this has been his dream job and his final destination over and over again.

I agree 100%. Who is to say OSU isn't Urban Meyer's dream job though. I was just showing the other side of the argument. I do believe Urban will leave before Brady for whatever reasons but an 18 year old kid may not think logically or down the road.

I'm pretty sure when he was in limbo after leaving Florida, Urban said his dream jobs were Ohio, Michigan, and ND. Basically the biggest and most storied programs with possibilities for job openings in the near future. He's full of shit.

Columbus is a shit hole. Ann Arbor is probably 10 magnitudes higher on the "good place to live" scale.
Brady Hoke has shown no signs of bailing. Urban has (a) his broadcasting option, (b) his heart ailment/family history, and (c) his bailing and coming back to Florida flip flop history. Again, no brainer in terms of who is more reliable.
"Recent' and "Tradition" are contradictory, not to mention relative. If you want to go one year out, sure, if you go three years out, UM 1 BCS win, Ohio 0. If you go ten years out X, if you go 50 years out Y, if you go 100 years out Z...
Flat out Meyer is using Webb to drive a stake in Michigan's heart because he sees the threat being posed here by Hoke and Mattison. I bet he will stop at nothing, and delve into several shady grey areas in terms of inaccuracies that will spew from his lips in order to pluck Webb and work over McDowell and others.
Brady Hoke is simply far more trustworthy.

I refuse to click through to read how terribly written this Freep article is.

Give Yourself Goosebumps. If you like what you see, go ahead. But if doom seems inevitable, flip back and just go another route.

Not much, but it is definitely a positive. I've heard his family really likes ND. So it will be good to show them what Mich has to offer.

McDowell visitng is the best news in this article. For all the positive things I've heard regarding Michigan's position with him, I had never seen a less interested prospect. Seemed like he was visitng and talking highly of every school but Michigan. Obviousely this changes things. And bringing the whole family... That's good news.

Good to hear. I was getting worried with how much time Marshall has been in EL lately.
