Solidarity with McHobbit - Duke fans are the worst.
Duke fans chanted "how's your grandma" as Tyler Lewis (aka McHobbit), who just lost his grandma (with whom he was very close), shot free throws. Certainly not all the students were doing it, but sounds like at least 100 of them. I'm sure KG approves - everyone else should not be surprised.
I wonder if Grant Hill will write a sanctimonious op-ed blaming this on Jalen Rose.

I had the opportunity to go to Duke for grad school, but glad I didn't. I ended up living with a Duke guy where I did go (Cal) and living with his fandom was one of the worst experiences ever. Duke and ND fans are the most deplorable people on the face of the earth.

State fans rank right up there too!

I just feel sorry for Staee fans, so they annoy me a lot less.

To me, during the second free throw it most definitely sounds like "hows your grandma"

But I can see how different people would hear it differently. (I'm not sure how mmmaaaa and timmmmeee sound that much alike, or hhhoowww and pppassstttt, but it could happen).
But you have people, including Duke students in the actual article saying they heard it. And from people defending them saying it was only a small group of them. Someone who was there really thinks they hear it, and with better than youtube quality sound.

I don't care for Duke either, but are we really scrutinizing the videotape of a sports game to tell whether a bunch of college students said something unclassy?

Regardless of what it sounds like, the fact that it is in question and that some claim to have heard it is damning enough evidence for me. That's low even for college kids

now I totally wont feel bad next time their football team gets stomped by 40. You would think to expect more out of an academic institution as such.

But it sounds like this was just a subgroup, let's not generalize. Even at the UM-OSU game, there was a section or two of students that kept chanting "FUCK OHIO." Not nearly as classless, but it just shows that sometimes students don't think to be classy and couple that with the mob mentality effect of additional people joining in and it makes for a messy situation.
The past your bedtime chant? That's what student sections should be chanting. Funny, family friendly, and still effective.

I don't know where I heard this phrase, but it fits here!

And after a second time It sounds like both are being said but the How's your grandma takes front stage.
