I'm brimming with embarrassment. Was a little lickered up, have zero idea of what context that was meant.
Hell, maybe I do love you. Call me I guess?

One of my friends is a Bell's rep and introduced me to this a year or so ago. His honest opinion is that it's not a great beer, but one that is in such high demand due to its unique nature. It's more of a "freak show" beer -- his words, not mine. I like a small glass or so before moving on to other things, but I definitely could not drink that all night long.

He likes it. And a lot. But he thinks it's a very good beer -- not great. He might be speaking from personal taste more than anything else. Anyway, he introduced it to me because he knew I really, really enjoyed the hoppy beers...and it don't get much hoppier than this!

I guess you've never been broke enough the drink this. They sell it in Wisconsin, something like 7 dollars for a 30 case.

My Dad has this random cousin way up in Eagle River, we go every year to go hang out on this giant redneck raft that they build. They drink Beer, and Beer Light.

The major area grocery chain, Kroger, many years ago, used to have its own brand designated with bright yellow packaging, and the name of the product displayed in big, black letters. So, their "beer" was literally a yellow can, with "BEER" stamped in huge letters on it. And that's it. Same with their multitude of other products.
They've since made their own brand much more appealing to the eye, but I have to admit...I kinda miss those generic yellow products. I'd scoop up that generic beer immediately if I ever saw it again.

Gotta love beer so awful it's good.

If it was a purely economic decision I'd go to WalMart for 30 of these:

I have family visiting from Michigan. We'll be going to an upscale restaurant in about 15 and since I just purchased a Tigers cap I'll be wearing that with jeans and my Nikes while everyone else wears dresses and suits. I march to the beat of my own drum, yo. I don't drink so I guess I'll be having water.

Harpoon IPA. Ever since i tried to articulate why i didn't like IPA's, i realized I actually like them. I think IPAs can taste like grapefruit.
Girlfriend is drinking Chimay, and yes she's real.

Harpoon IPA is one of my favorite beers. I'm the same way, I basically all-of-a-sudden started drinking IPAs and now I love them.
Sacred Cow IPA from Arbor Brewing Company for me tonight.

Harpoon is pretty solid, I'm staffed out in boston during the week, so got some exposure to it that way. Cheers

Corona, 'cause that's what's in the apartment and there's no way I'm going to the store tonight.

A nice local (Cincinnati) beer...
Playing a little Walking Dead on PS3 tonight -- does anyone else have this game? The story is fairly engrossing, to say the least.

...and it sure seems to me that the replay value is fairly high, too. I'm already wanting to rewind and try different responses & actions already. I'm not going to spoil for anyone, but I'm just in episode 2, at the "dinner scene." Yeah...

I'm really hugging the fence a lot on my first playthrough. I already want to go back and just be definitive and bad ass. At least I speared one of the St. John brothers. ;-)

Ever had Rivertown (anything)? Also, a Cincy-area brewery. Not a bad selection there, either.
January 25th, 2013 at 11:41 PM ^
So, yeah, I've had some Rivertown. Pretty solid stuff. I like their Helles and their Hopbomber. I thought the Roebling Porter was good, and I had one that I thought was terrible. Maybe the WIt? Can't remember. Definitely like the Mt. Carmel offerings better than Rivertown, though.

Finished the last Founders Centential IPA from the six pack I got. Will probably run down to Stadium Market to go beer shopping in a bit.
