New Stauskus Video - Raleigh Invitational
Everybody is talking a lot about Mitch McGary and Glenn Robinson III, so Nic Stauskus isn't quite getting a lot of attenion. However, I think he really might surprise a lot of people. I really like his game. Seems like he has the potential to be more offensively 2-dimensional (dribbling and shooting vs just shooting) as a freshman that Zach or Stu were.

Yes I was extremely excited when we picked up Nick. Even though GRIII has blown up and McGary came from the heavens, Nick is still solid.

<br>Losing Stu and Novak is going to hurt, but the future is bright.

Nic's got an awesome combination of skills at 6'6". Just watching his highlight tapes, it looks like his release has gotten quicker/higher/prettier over the last year. I guess those winter night shooting sessions with dad are paying off...

This kid. He seems to be a real baller. Like an upgrade of Stu Douglass

Kid can play, but is all about getting the ball to the guy with the best opportunity. I love this kid. He's going to be a good one for us!
Go Blue!

A key difference is that Blake moves much better laterally. As supremely skilled as Stauskus is, I have a feeling he's going to have a pretty hard time guarding 1s and 2s in the NBA. That's still a long way off, though, and hopefully he finds a niche. In the meantime, I'll be stoked to see him in a Michigan uniform.

He won't have to guard 1s at the NBA level, he'll be a shooting guard. Like you said, he'll hopefully find a niche at the pro level if things go well at Michigan. He sure looks impressive and someone that will be a big contributor over the next few years.

Looks like he can break down the defense and hand off the assist, which is fantastic combined with an obvious ability to hit from outside. The tape didn't show much of him finishing drives--does he have skills around the basket to finish his drives?

Any chance he'll be our backup PG next year? Not too many other options unless Brunridge makes a big jump.
