Purdue gives Danny Hope a 2-year contract extension
http://btn.com/2011/12/23/purdue-extends-hopes-contract-by-2-years/
His contract now lasts through the 2016 season. Hope is 15-21 (10-14 Big Ten) so far at Purdue. Michigan plays at Purdue in 2012, but does not play the Boilermakers in 2013 or 2014.

"Purdue Extends Hope For Two Years"

hope couldnt even coach in the MAC. We have Ron English waiting for w B1G opportunity so prove he is a big time coach. Then this happens. NO hope for Hope.
December 23rd, 2011 at 11:57 PM ^
You are saying Ron English is waiting for an opportunity to coach in the B1G.
December 23rd, 2011 at 9:59 PM ^
A 42% win percentage overall and in the B1G is about the best Purdue can Hope for.

They should also hope to not lose to a non BCS conference team every year. But if they are extending Hope, I guess they don't care.

why not?

Works for me

beat OSU. Despite Ohio's year from hell, it makes for a good leverage point for Danny Pornstache.
December 24th, 2011 at 12:15 AM ^
I still can't wrap my head around Purdue beating Ohio this season. Just crazy.
December 24th, 2011 at 12:55 AM ^
Wasn't Hope the head coach when they upset Ohio when Pryor was there?
December 24th, 2011 at 1:05 PM ^
Purdue has been up and down over the years, but they are good for the occasional upset. They're especially dangerous at home.

Hope not so much

in 2016?
Anybody want odds on whether Danny Hope will be coaching Purdue in 2016?

I don't think that's contingent upon Hope being their head coach

But negged for the Purderp.
Srsly.

Well deserved.
I'm pouring myself another and getting away from t'internet thing.

I like it for Michigan's sake.

Rabble rabble rabble

if he somehow convinced the higher ups that he could get Purdue competitive with OSU being on probation, PSU in trouble and possibly heading that way. Illinois a fine mess and Indiana just being Indiana.
I had either Hope or Ferentz being the next Big Ten coach to get the axe.
December 24th, 2011 at 9:45 AM ^
coaches contracts are meaningless. its all about buyout. all colleges except where there is a coach for life situation typically have 4-5 years - recruits want to think their coach will be there for their five years, yet even with extensions, coach can and will be fired at any time.
December 24th, 2011 at 1:36 PM ^
Hurray! Keep him there forever. We just need for John Cooper, Bobby Williams and Tim Brewster to be reinstated at their previous schools.
December 24th, 2011 at 8:05 PM ^
That is a true Festivus miracle for Purdue fans.
