seems like it will be a battle for top class in conference between us and Ohio...I like where we are at with who we are in with right now. Should at worst finish the class with nothing but highly rated kids coming in.
December 19th, 2011 at 3:24 PM ^
I'm fascinated by the fact that the top 3 recruiting classes listed here are the traditional powers. Looks like the imbalance of the past few years will be changing.
December 18th, 2011 at 3:55 PM ^
but it's odd that you sort your list of players by their rivals ranking and not their overall average, e.g. blake bars ahead of funchess.
December 18th, 2011 at 3:55 PM ^
find it hard to believe that Neb is dead last. What is going on out west?
December 18th, 2011 at 5:16 PM ^
If they are able to fill up the rest of their class with commits that are equal to what they have already they look to finish with the 5th or 6th best class in the B1G barring any major changes by Sparty or Penn St.
December 18th, 2011 at 6:18 PM ^
If they maintain their current star level for the rest of their class, Nebraska will be above Wisconsin.
Penn State will lose more recruits.
Wisconsin will lose Dodson.
December 18th, 2011 at 10:08 PM ^
I doubt that's going to happen. They seem in line to be fighting for some of the smaller fries, with the possible exception of Andrus Peat.
December 18th, 2011 at 11:17 PM ^
Hard to imagine they can't keep their average above 3 starts.
Chances are Penn State loses Reeves and Williams and they're not about to add any 4/5 star talent anytime soon. Nebraska will be in that PSU/MSU tier, behind Wisconsin and the big boys. That seems to be about the norm for Nebraska.
Of course, this is all predicated on the assumption that Nebraska can find 12 more kids to sign.
December 18th, 2011 at 10:25 PM ^
Reliable ot was But there were rumblings of a decommitment from Westerkamp on a site the other day. Couldn't tell if it was trolling though.
December 19th, 2011 at 12:10 PM ^
ND is going hard after Westerkamp, he just visited campus even after Neb "sent the house" so to speak on an inhome. Nothing is for sure yet but that is a possible flip for sure.
December 19th, 2011 at 1:27 PM ^
and recruiting ratings weigh number of recruits over quality of recruits.
Because its a small class (mid teens), we are being pickier than usual, going for more high-star players who often wait till the end of the recruiting season to commit.
December 18th, 2011 at 5:21 PM ^
Just out of curiousity, does anyone know how big of class Ohio will be taking this year?
December 19th, 2011 at 1:34 AM ^
All the numbers I've seen indicate that it will be around 23. With attrition, I could personally see around 25, though.
December 18th, 2011 at 6:12 PM ^
So Ohio just landed Spence.
December 18th, 2011 at 6:44 PM ^
OSU is gonna have a higher average from every site once you get Spence in. Does Michigan get passed?
December 18th, 2011 at 7:28 PM ^
They'll have at least 4 less players, so I doubt it. They have some very solid players in their class now though.
December 18th, 2011 at 11:26 PM ^
I'm surprised Ace jumped OSU over ND (pre Spence). Tim's philosophy was, "If it's close, then I'm not going to bother rearranging the table because that's a pain."
I suspect, barring another 5 start commit to OSU (don't think there's anyone on the radar who'll commit soon), Michigan will stay #1 next week.
December 19th, 2011 at 12:50 AM ^
None of the major recruiting sites have Ohio ahead of Michigan. I think we're safe. I'm expecting Jehu to commit this week. We have solid numbers on their class.
December 19th, 2011 at 4:27 PM ^
Martez Shabazz is a fantastic name. Probably the most fantastic thing going for Minnesota football right about now.
December 19th, 2011 at 7:26 PM ^
Urghh. Noah Spence. Consensus Top 10 Player to the Buckeyes. Apparently had zero interest in Bucknuts until this week. What the hell is Urban Meyer selling these kids?
December 20th, 2011 at 1:40 AM ^
Searched for "used car salesman" to find a good picture to respond with, but I think this is perfect:
December 20th, 2011 at 8:46 AM ^
Have you thought about bringing back the old recruiting board? I know it was mostly a Tim thing, but I think it definitely helped me figure out everything pretty easily. Sometimes I get really confused when I don't keep up with recruiting, and I hear a name and have no idea what the person's status (or even position sometimes) is.
December 20th, 2011 at 10:28 AM ^
With Noah Spence on board, you probably could put Ohio ahead of MICH at this point.....
December 24th, 2011 at 10:43 PM ^
how is it that nebraska only has 8 recruits? pelini must be an absolutely horrific recruiter.
