He was offered; Miles was not.

Seems like I remember the SEC argument when we had the one an two ranked teams(OSU/UM) was they were a better conference becasue the parity and number of bowl teams.
December 3rd, 2011 at 7:53 PM ^
The voters seem to be very low on the big ten this year even though we have 10 bowl eligable teams.
December 3rd, 2011 at 7:53 PM ^
lol @ gary danielson's idea having ZERO big ten teams and TWO SEC and TWO PAC 12 teams in the playoff (and Va tech)

December 3rd, 2011 at 7:59 PM ^
This morning, houston was one of the best six in the country.
No way you can rationalize a playoff that has Va Tech in there over the big ten champion

I don't think any Big 10 team can make a case this year. It's a down year this year.
I'd prefer a 16 team playoff. It's really hard to complain about being left out and it gives room for a top team to have some weird problem derail part of their season.
Also, true home games for any playoff. No way are 80+ thousand seats being sold in the Rose, Sugar, and Fiesta, and Orange Bowl in 4-5 weeks. It's too much travel for all but the most extreme fans.
December 3rd, 2011 at 8:00 PM ^
Fucking sucks. What a company man.
December 3rd, 2011 at 7:58 PM ^
Come on LSU. No more points.
December 3rd, 2011 at 7:59 PM ^
2 Pac12 teams?
That guy and CBS have made sec football unwatchable , for me at least.
December 3rd, 2011 at 8:00 PM ^
There's a chance a 3 loss Baylor team could jump us but Houston and GA will drop below us. I think it's a bunch BS that the computers have the leftovers of the old big 12 conference rated so high.
The only things I'm concerned about is a close MSU vs WI score where spraty loses but some how knocks us down to 15 by only dropping to 14 and a close OU loss where a another 3 loss big 12 team may be ranked ahead, and the computer doesn't knock Houston down as far as they should fall and some how they get ranked ahead of us. But I'm banking on a 80 percent chance that we are in the Sugar!December 3rd, 2011 at 8:02 PM ^
Georgia's backup QB, in garbage time, threw an awesome jump ball to Tacopants.
December 3rd, 2011 at 8:03 PM ^
lol...there is nobody in Indy....15 till kickoff and the stadium is still half empty...lol what a joke.

Gary Danielson thinks the problem with the current BCS system is that it isn't fair to the SEC. He suggests a six-team playoff instead of a single championship game, with all six teams selected from the SEC.
(The first part of this isn't sarcasm.)
December 3rd, 2011 at 8:09 PM ^
That's a masterful argument. WHAT IF THE SEC HAS A 1 LOSS CHAMPION AND 2 OTHER TEAMS IN LESSER CONFERENCES GO UNDEFEATED? It's unfair that the bestest conference evar won't be represented!
December 3rd, 2011 at 8:18 PM ^
Right! Because, if you lose in the SEC to one of those mighty powerhouses, you will never go to the championship game.
(Just ask Alabama!)
(This is in sharp contrast to a conference like the Big 12, where a loss doesn't hurt you.)
Danielson is retarded.

It is now 8PM eastern time. Here is where I see Michigan's BCS chances:
- Michigan moves ahead of Georgia
- Michigan moves ahead of Houston
- Baylor moves ahead of Michigan
Michigan has moved up one spot in the BCS right now. Michigan must move ahead of the MSU/UW loser, or move ahead of Oklahoma (assuming Oklahome loses to Ok.State.) to get into the top 14 BCS, and thus earn a BCS game.

Uh, whoever is voicing the Legends/Leaders thing has to be embarrassed.
Edit: Please tell me Wisconsin is already on the field.

I'd be rooting for someone to get trucked regardless. Default option when two teams play that I don't like. I like when these things fall into place.
December 3rd, 2011 at 8:09 PM ^
Would you guys consider our BCS ticket punched now that Georgia got destroyed?
Georgia and Houston got destroyed. Both teams in the BTCG are ahead of us, so one will fall below.
December 3rd, 2011 at 8:09 PM ^
I'm so embarrassed for the Big 10 right now. This is appalling.
December 3rd, 2011 at 8:16 PM ^
Swazi, I definitely DO NOT consider Michigan's ticket punched for the Sugar Bowl. Not yet...
Baylor may move ahead of Michigan. Michigan may not move ahead of Houston.
I think the only team Michigan has definitely moved ahead of at this point is Georgia. If this is true, Michigan needs to move ahead of either the MSU/UW loser, or move ahead of Oklahoma, if Oklahoma loses to Ok.State.
Right now, Michigan fans are rooting for MSU to win, or UW to blow-out MSU. Michigan fans are also rooting for Oklahoma State to defeat Oklahoma (preferably by a wide margin.)

If they do not pull this one off, they will reach official #DEADTOME status.
December 3rd, 2011 at 8:10 PM ^
Why did we put this thing in Indy in a state that doesn't give a shit about football when we could have rotated it to Pitt, Detroit, Chicago, Cleveland, Green Bay.
December 3rd, 2011 at 8:11 PM ^
Time to move the game to Lambeau, this just doesn't feel right indoors. Plus no one showed up anyway
December 3rd, 2011 at 8:14 PM ^
Home games are the way to go. Head to head matchup could be first and BCS standings second. Guarantee a sellout and interest. There really isn't a great spot to have the game in the Big 10 footprint outside of Chicago--and there isn't a good college football team in Chicago.
December 3rd, 2011 at 8:19 PM ^
Agreed, plus it keeps the UM-OSU game meaningful if they meet at the end of the year having already locked up their respective divisions
December 3rd, 2011 at 8:30 PM ^
I don't think you'll have to worry about whether or not The Game is meaningful at the end of the year.
December 3rd, 2011 at 8:19 PM ^
But every school in the conference has a massive alumni base in Chicago. Look at the visiting fans at any Northwestern home game, and that's just for Northwestern. I don't think filling Soldier Field would be a problem.
December 3rd, 2011 at 8:21 PM ^
Yeah, but you guarantee it if the game is at home. Besides, I hate NFL stadiums. They're small and sterile. Anything less than 95,000 just isn't big enough.

With Buckeyes.
December 3rd, 2011 at 8:58 PM ^
Totally agree. Between an indoor stadium and Fox, this lacks any kind of charm or energy.

Best part about the inaugural B1GCG: One of these doucheketeer coaches has to lose.
December 3rd, 2011 at 8:12 PM ^
Alright, does that announcer really intend to talk in the cheesy voice the whole time? And continually drop leaders and legends puns?
December 3rd, 2011 at 8:16 PM ^
That's how he talks on Madden, so odds are, yes.
December 3rd, 2011 at 8:16 PM ^
I really think he does. I also think he lives this game off his resume.
December 3rd, 2011 at 8:21 PM ^
C'mon now....I would completely drop Legends and Leaders puns at every opportunity.
