Team looks great this year, I am fairly optimistic, that being said...nothing is won in October, it is won in the Frozen Four! As always...GO BLUE!

I hope to see us play more often, optimistic for the Big 10 hockey conference, mostly so I can see our boys come and beat the crap out of the Gophers...I live in MN.

...and the basketball team is pre-season ranked 20th, despite our starting point guard sitting out the NBA season with the rest of his professional brethren (damnit!).  It's cool that the hockey team rose to the top of the poll, but until we square off with some conference competition, I'm going to temper my enthusiasm.

FUCK YOU STATE! Best news I've heard all weekend. Let's hope this continues. I want that CCHA and NCAA Championship so bad.

is there any way to get OSU Mich tickets for the January 15th game before November 4th? Regardless of that I'm still getting up @ 8:00 am on stand by to get those stubs.

This is more indicative of teams above us losing than us being awesome. I'm sort of amazed we're #1 what with all of the questions we have this year. I'll take it though

edit: is this the first time we've been ranked #1 since the '07-'08 dream season featuring porter and kolarik?

I agree that this ranking is due to the fact UM is 4-0 and everyone else lost. This weekend should be interesting, 2 game at #17 Norther Michigan (3-1-0). They split with Wiscy and swept St. Cloud State. That's 4 games vs WCHA and UM was playing AHA teams... big difference. It's nice to be #1 though. It would have rather been #1 4 polls ago....

Go Blue!

4-0, but not against the greatest competition.  Nonetheless, after the Sparty debacle on Saturday, it's nice to see a great start to the year and some love from the polls.  Hopefully Blue can start the CCHA schedule with some Ws against Northern this weekend and justify the ranking!

Their coach is former CCHA commissioner Tom Anastos, who has absolutely no track record as a head coach short of leading his daughter's hockey team to the state championship game. If you happen to have friends that are MSU hockey fans, bringing up their coach is sure to rile them up. Well worth bringing up.
