Dennis Talbott working in Michigan stadium.

Brandon. Pimp Hand.
STAT.
September 20th, 2011 at 12:27 AM ^
If Brandon actually had a pimp hand, Talbott never would have stepped foot on our field to begin with.
This is a huge embarrassment and I can't believe someone in our AD could drop the ball this badly. What really irks me is his profile pic. He's rubbing it in.
September 20th, 2011 at 12:33 AM ^
Brandon ultimately takes responsibility for all things going on in the AD but I strongly doubt he was signing off on the final list of photographers for the Western game. I'd be surprised if this hasn't already been addressed by Brandon behind closed doors.
September 20th, 2011 at 12:40 AM ^
Someone was being employed in Brandon's outfit that thought this was OK. That blows my mind. So yes, it does fall on him one way or another.
DB is many things. Owner of a pimp hand isn't one of them.
September 20th, 2011 at 12:59 AM ^
Ahhh, alright. You have a short memory but DB isn't one to let idiots hang around his AD. See BLabadie and SDraper. Opinion is defintely divided on DB but you've been living in a cave if you think he's lacking in having a strong personality that he'll act on, aka, a pimp hand.
September 20th, 2011 at 1:03 AM ^
The person who signed off in this probably barely read the list of photographers, much less read it carefully for outlawed individuals. He/she thought it was okay because they didn't know who this person was, not because illegal boosters are fine on the sidelines.
September 20th, 2011 at 1:13 AM ^
Sorry, but I find it hard to believe that the sideline cred process is as loosey-goosey as someone briefly eyeballing a list of names. If it is, then our compliance department still has work to do.
September 20th, 2011 at 7:33 AM ^
It's probably not so much a list of people as it is a list of people with photography companies. They see a company name they recognize and sign off on the person without looking. How many photogrphers are known by name out there?
Lets not get all tinfoil hat, now.
September 20th, 2011 at 10:11 AM ^
You could very well be right. But if we've learned anything from the NCAA violation-fest of late, it's that bad things happen when people have access to players who shouldn't. Seems to me that sideline access would be an area that would be more scrutinized nowadays in light of all this.
September 20th, 2011 at 12:42 PM ^
It's a list of people. I was on the sideline shooting pictures this past weekend. You have to show a photo I.D. and you're listed by name, not company.
September 20th, 2011 at 12:24 AM ^
That does not want that guy near MICHIGAN? This guy is scum and should not be allowed into MICHIGAN STADIUM.
September 20th, 2011 at 6:16 AM ^
Have you read the rest of this thread?
September 20th, 2011 at 12:46 AM ^
It's also time to provide Talbott with written notice that if he is spotted in the Big House, he will be arrested for trespassing, fined, and then escorted to the Michigan-Ohio border.
September 20th, 2011 at 12:55 AM ^
this makes me peeved that we can't get a photographer on the sidelines.
September 20th, 2011 at 1:32 AM ^
And that picture of Denard isn't even that good. It looks like it was taken at almost eye level and at higher f-stop with too much depth of field. The dude should have been a little lower and more to the front.

September 20th, 2011 at 7:07 AM ^
If things change, let me know. My guy will be there, free of charge.
September 20th, 2011 at 1:01 AM ^
Shameless plug for my freelance photographer buddy who would love to get the credential Talbott had. I think he's good...

September 20th, 2011 at 1:35 AM ^
Dammit. I wish I would have known about that. One of my photography goals is to take a picture of rodeo.
September 20th, 2011 at 1:22 AM ^
I would be willing to bet Talbott never even sniffs a sideline pass at the Big House again. The next time he wants great seats, he'll have to buy from a scalper.
Brandon really did drop the ball here, though. By his own standards, he should be very close to being fired. And if anything does come of it, he should be fired.
September 20th, 2011 at 7:39 AM ^
that your blog is named tinfoil hat.
September 20th, 2011 at 1:45 AM ^
cannot overcome the ineptitudes of institutional-grade bureaucracy.
September 20th, 2011 at 1:52 AM ^
So anyways, how does one of the links in there get away with selling photographs of NCAA games? One of the rules on the sheet I was given states that it is forbidden unless approved by the Media Relations Office.
Not that I would think of selling one of my MIchigan photographs...but still...
Gah.
September 20th, 2011 at 1:59 AM ^
sent multiple emails throughout the AD asking for explaination of how this happened and what is going to be done about it. If I get any reasonable response I will post it here.

September 20th, 2011 at 3:17 AM ^
why don't we start an online petition to have this guy blacklisted?
and maybe another one to get an mgoblog photog (mgophotog) credentialed on the sidelines.?
seems like we could get not only readers of this blog, which is everybody, but all the other um blogs to sign. and facebook, etc.
present it to d. brandon.
anyone know how to get one stated?
September 20th, 2011 at 7:20 AM ^
This info also explains who the SOB was that over charged people for popcorn. Call off the search.
September 20th, 2011 at 8:47 AM ^
...I'm thinking an email to DB could change this pretty quickly. Go!
September 20th, 2011 at 8:52 AM ^
Looks like Talbot was affiliated with a legit football publication out of Ohio "This Week in Football" to allow him to get credentials???
September 20th, 2011 at 9:46 AM ^
Does anyone think this just might be old news to the AD? Apparently he was only there for the WMU game.
September 20th, 2011 at 9:58 AM ^
point ....next topic
September 20th, 2011 at 11:57 AM ^
According to Balas on TOS.....
<br>
<br>"the Ohio media outlet used a fake name to get him in. Associate A.D. Dave Ablauf told us they never would have let him in had he used his real name, and the media outlet and Talbott have both had their credentials revoked."
September 20th, 2011 at 12:49 PM ^
"This week in football" had a photographer there this weekend. I talked to him. They have hired a company called "Ohio Sports Imaging" to do their photos now. OhioSI.com. The guy gave me his card.
September 20th, 2011 at 2:12 PM ^
Denard Robinson has more autographed crap for sale on the internets than any other CFB player...coincidence?
September 20th, 2011 at 2:20 PM ^
Yo, OPer. Could you not just post a link and that's it. A sentence or two (or even a blockquote!) about what the heck you're linking to is common courtesy. Thanks.
(I only bring this up because i think this is the second thread you started today and if we get people so desparate to start thread for the sake of being first, it stunts quality discussion. I'd rather hear your opinion than see a link. That's what m.go.licious is for).
September 20th, 2011 at 2:24 PM ^
Maybe we could get craig james to photo shoot a game
