OT: Lions v. Chiefs/Generic NFL Open Thread
Let's grab another W and keep this thing rolling. Go Lions
[ED:BISB; Per request, and to consolidate OT stuff, this thread is now open for NFL fans of all stripes. Though why you would want to watch anyone but the Lions is beyond me]

It is not being broadcast where I am, can I see it on the web?
September 18th, 2011 at 12:50 PM ^
Agreed, and while we're at it I hope the D scores off 5 turnovers, so I don't even have to pay attention to whether my fantasy game is close.
September 18th, 2011 at 12:55 PM ^
Who the hell are these announcers?
September 18th, 2011 at 12:58 PM ^
if the Lions home games are on FOX or CBS. I always thought that, in general, the NFC was on FOX and AFC was on CBS. Yet there is sometimes a random exception.
September 18th, 2011 at 1:04 PM ^
For NFC-NFC matchups it's on Fox.
For AFC-AFC matchups it's on CBS.
For AFC-NFC matchups the road team generally determines whether it's on CBS or Fox. Hence this game being on CBS.

HOT POTATO!!!
September 18th, 2011 at 1:11 PM ^
Must not have sold out, I can't even get a radio broadcast online.
September 18th, 2011 at 1:15 PM ^
That was the ugliset touchdown drive I've seen in awhile.
September 18th, 2011 at 1:15 PM ^
It sold out, but I can't find anything on justin.tv showing anything other that still photos.
September 18th, 2011 at 1:27 PM ^
Much appreciated. Thank you.
September 18th, 2011 at 1:21 PM ^
Nice to join you all for another Lions game.
The chiefs's defense appears to be quite stupid so far. Hopefully Stafford got his one bad decision out of his system.
September 18th, 2011 at 1:23 PM ^
Wow, the mascot might have helped us out for the rest of the game...
September 18th, 2011 at 1:27 PM ^
out of bounds. His leg came down straight with a great deal of force. Looks like a knee injury.
September 18th, 2011 at 1:30 PM ^
Am I the only one who see's Dane Sanzenbacher as a great NFL wide out in the future?

Chiefs moving the ball at will. The offense has not looked sharp either.
September 18th, 2011 at 1:40 PM ^
The vaunted front four has looked like nothing special. I also didn't see much out of Suh last week.
September 18th, 2011 at 1:43 PM ^
the Chiefs are a pretty elite rushing team
September 18th, 2011 at 1:47 PM ^
The Chiefs are on track for 400 yards rushing. This is extremely poor play on the part of the Lions front 7. They are averaging 8.4 yrds per rush. That is ridiculous.
September 18th, 2011 at 1:49 PM ^
we don't overreact to 1 quarter of play
September 18th, 2011 at 1:41 PM ^
and what is your Lions victory in the making beverage of choice?
September 18th, 2011 at 1:44 PM ^
They can't stop the run or move the ball. This looks like a bad football team right now.
September 18th, 2011 at 2:05 PM ^
negative kool-aid drink ....
PS. Lions just scored again and the Chiefs haven't
September 18th, 2011 at 3:39 PM ^
later. It's 41-3 Lions with 11 mins left in the 4th. Care to re-visit this thought?
September 18th, 2011 at 1:42 PM ^
The Chiefs mistakes are why the Lions have the lead. Otherwise, they have been the better team.
September 18th, 2011 at 1:45 PM ^
Teams looks deflated from last week. The Chiefs are gashing us for big chunks on the ground. Cunningham needs to make some adjustments fast. Also, not a big fan of throwing the ball when we had a 3rd and 1 a few drives ago.
September 18th, 2011 at 1:53 PM ^
What are people's thoughts so far on the Nick Fairley pick? I'm indifferent so far, but then again, I don't know anything.
September 18th, 2011 at 1:54 PM ^
what I think once he plays more than 0 snaps in his career.
September 18th, 2011 at 2:02 PM ^
From what I've read he's been immersing himself in the playbook and video sessions until he's healed up. While he physically may be behind the curve when he comes back, at least he'll be mentally prepared. For the all the questions surrounding his character and work ethic, I think this shows what we can come to expect from him. Our DL is going to be scary with him and Suh in the middle.
September 18th, 2011 at 5:50 PM ^
Fairley
September 18th, 2011 at 1:53 PM ^
Man that looked awful. Hope Charles is okay. I was reading ACL tear on a different forum.
September 18th, 2011 at 1:54 PM ^
YESS. Keep shooting yourselves in the foot Chiefs.
September 18th, 2011 at 1:55 PM ^
was their OC last year. He also is a fomer ND HC. Both teams shot themselves in foot. Coincidence?
September 18th, 2011 at 2:03 PM ^
Florida's offense yesterday as well left a bit to be desired. The Florida D dropped like 8 would be INTs. Bray is just godawful.
September 18th, 2011 at 1:56 PM ^
Great playcall there Linehan...
September 18th, 2011 at 1:57 PM ^
Linehan's playcalling is atrocious. 3 and 1 and you run a draw from the shotgun? WTF?
September 18th, 2011 at 2:05 PM ^
I've agreed with some things you've said, but your Lions watching appears to me to burn like lint - dramatic sweeping statements and knee jerk reactions based on a very short term view. Throw some oak on the fire eh?
Damn Stafford has pin point accuracy.
September 18th, 2011 at 2:20 PM ^
Sometimes one has know when to post and when not to post. I deserve the low rating.
But damn, this team can be good if they just put it together.
September 18th, 2011 at 2:06 PM ^
Wow, nice throw and catch there! Stafford looks shaken up though. I hope its not a shoulder...
September 18th, 2011 at 2:07 PM ^
Got drilled in the lower back. Late hit but uncalled.
September 18th, 2011 at 2:21 PM ^
I love Scheff!
September 18th, 2011 at 2:12 PM ^
These announcers and the production in general are terrible.
