offensive linemen going down like flies here. Hopefully its not serious and they come back into the game.

All I hear is cowbells, an alleged hooker murderer (which is tru[e]ly unfounded and unsubstantiated) and a pretty boy named Capt. Obvious.

That is all...for now.

I love college football on Thursday... But I do not like the annoucer choice...
September 15th, 2011 at 8:31 PM ^
Thursday night games are really fun to watch. Since there is only one game (usually), it's really fun to watch, so long as it's a close game because you only have one game to concentrate on. Saturdays are great of course, but there is a lot of channel changing to deal with.

Somebody failed 4th grade English.
September 15th, 2011 at 9:22 PM ^
Maybe English isn't his first language?

Please point out any grammatical errors.

I bet you are a fan of ball-in-a-cup, aren't you?
September 15th, 2011 at 10:40 PM ^
If that's a joke, it's poor because I don't get it.
September 15th, 2011 at 8:57 PM ^
Agreed. Craig James is bad enough then they choose to pair him with Rece Davis and Jesse Palmer.
September 15th, 2011 at 9:08 PM ^
Too bad that ESPN can't put the A-squad out there all the time. James, Davis and Palmer are the Y squad, I think. "Yes, you cover that game over there..."

Clock management issues in the 1st quarter?!?!
September 15th, 2011 at 8:28 PM ^
All I know is watching all this eess eee ceee speed running 3 yds and a cloud of dust is really confusing me.
September 15th, 2011 at 8:37 PM ^
Jessie Palmer Vs Pam Ward who's worse?
September 15th, 2011 at 8:39 PM ^
Pam loses in all categories. In any poll. On any given day. That is all.
September 15th, 2011 at 9:09 PM ^
Berlusconi's recent line about Merkel is pretty much how I feel about Pam Ward
September 15th, 2011 at 9:08 PM ^
Pam because she's forced to talk more being the play-by-play announcer. And she just flat out sucks.
September 15th, 2011 at 8:40 PM ^
Pam is bad, but I cant stand listening to Craig James
September 15th, 2011 at 8:43 PM ^
Is tearing up the LSU defense. Would love to see what Denard could do.
September 15th, 2011 at 9:05 PM ^
Relf presents a bit of a different threat with his size/durability (4 inches and at least 50 pounds on Denard). Also, MSU runs those outside zone read options (pitch or keeper), which stretches LSU horizontally and enables Relf to run a draw effectively from the zone-read positioning.
None of this is to say that Denard, with a coordinator calling plays perfectly tailored to our team, couldn't do serious damage to any given team on any given day. He clearly could. But LSU has a freakish defensive line and quite a bit of talent all around.
September 16th, 2011 at 4:39 AM ^
I'm not sure at what point in the game you posted that, but I don't think it was true at any point. They scored 6 points? I spent the entire game thinking, damn, LSU's D is f-ing awesome.
September 15th, 2011 at 8:45 PM ^
I hate when announcers refer to a kick as being "true". Bothers the fuck out of me for some reason.
September 15th, 2011 at 8:47 PM ^
Same. If a field goal was false, it would be fake, am I wrong? What does it all mean?
September 15th, 2011 at 8:46 PM ^
I'm not sure watching both these teams if they are just good on defense or if those offenses really are that bad. Both teams seemingly take forever to get down the field, and don't have that many playmakers on the offensive side of the ball. And yeah, I remember the bowl game last year, but maybe that was the outlier in MSU's offensive outputs.
September 15th, 2011 at 8:49 PM ^
So im new to MGOBLOG but.... I was wondering why no one ever talks about running the option with denard from under center, like Nebraska does, to at least have the threat of a QB run when under center... Seems like it might be a good idea if they really want to get away from the shotgun
September 15th, 2011 at 9:19 PM ^
Well, I think we should put Denard and Tate in the backfield together. What? Oh sorry.
September 15th, 2011 at 8:59 PM ^

But if you know most of your students will get drunk and rowdy on Thursday, why the heck not get them packed into a stadium to scream at players from Louisiana?
September 15th, 2011 at 9:10 PM ^
I watch LSU purely for watching DL play. It's fantastic year-in and year-out
September 15th, 2011 at 9:12 PM ^
Their DL's are always awesome. But it wasn't so long ago we had DL's like that.
September 15th, 2011 at 9:59 PM ^
And I don't think it'll be too long before we have great DL play every year.

Why did you call a time-out before Miss State punted, then take a knee and go to halftime? What was the point of saving those 7 seconds to kneel? Were you still chewing your last mouthfull of grass or something?

Quite a lot. Teach, work in government, work in the private sector. Pretty much anything you want to do with it (except for the obvious building bridges and such).
