Someone tell me about C.J. Olaniyan from Warren Mott
He's an instate 4 star (both rivals & scout) DE with a tremendous offer list. Are we in on him? Is he a grade problem and we are steering clear? Is he not interested in Michigan? I haven't heard much on him but seems like a kid we should be after.
Here's his rival link with offers: http://michigan.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=92881
He's awesome, I am sure we have offered him. ESPN has us as his #1 as of now. I don't know if that's true or not. State is 2nd.
I know he was mentioned, along with Hicks, Gholston, and Bolden, as someone about to commit to State. The other 3 guys all committed, so i imagine he's a state lean.
Bolden committed?
I thought i read somewhere that he had, but i guess not
to a rumor. Bolden has not committed and he is not a State lean.
He's going to MSU, PSU, or Oregon. I think he is a state lean though.
I think we're trying, but he was always projected as a tough get.
State fan? I don't know.
IDK why, I just remember reading that a couple places.
Edit: Other Brian or MgoObes probably knows the deal.
My sister teaches at Warren Mott. She doesn't know this kid personally, but says there's been recruiters crawling around the woodwork all over at the school.
He's a total stud. Warren Mott nearly beat Cass Tech this year, and there was one reason for it. Olaniyan. I really hope we get him.
This kid would definitely be a good pick up. I'm sure RR is doing his due diligence to get him to commit.
I doubt we're going after him, too many stars.
I think Paskorz is a poor fit for Deathbacker. I'd prefer to see Paskorz at DE and have Wilkins and Olaniyan duke it out for Deathbacker.
We have offered Olaniyan and I think we were leading for a while, but I'm not sure if our recent commits have affected that recruitment. Also, there's that rumor about him dropping for MSU...
If MSU keeps this up they will have a really good recruiting class. This year they will probably be on par with us.
Consistency was always the problem with Sparty. Dantonio looks to be following up a very good '09 recruiting class with (possibly) an even better class in '10.
That may all fall away with a substandard year, though. Doesn't seem like Dantonio is going to pull a John L., but you never know.
Dantonio's showing an ability to recruit in-state if Bolden, Olaniyan, and these other guys go to MSU. But again, they're getting commitments ONLY from in-state guys so far (Bullough, Lippett, Gholston, etc.). If his mojo doesn't work on guys from elsewhere, they won't necessarily measure up.
