Ufer was extraordinary and loved Michigan with all his soul.
And, as a student athlete at Michigan, he set the world indoor record of 48.1 seconds in the indoor 440-yard run and was selected as an All-American in 1943.
I think we’re done for. Can’t square how he made Stanford n the 49ers so great and we are so mediocre, mistake ridden and mentally undisciplined and weak.
Seems so rare that the tip our way, but finally... I've felt that this NCAA tournament may offer sweet revenge for getting short changed in 2013 against Louisville? Hopefully so, I believe we have to squeak by a few games to hit our stride and pull off the upset of NCAA championships perhaps!
I can't Square the mediocrity here, with our offense especially, versus Harbaugh's success while at Stanford and knocking off USC in their prime. I have felt the loss of Jedd Fisch influence has become dramatically more apparent each game this year.
Tend to agree, a lot more parity in college football these days. Doesn't seem like we have any explosive athletes (except Peppers) and I just don't get it how all these other teams have QBs or running backs who really run.
Been to a few NFL Ravens games barraged by "F" Bombs .....with my young daughter. Vowed I would never return and haven't. If you hVe to have alcohol to enjoy a Michigan game I don't understand it. Love the purity of the game. Have your drinks later to celebrate.
of we are trying to win the Big Ten. I believe Hoke feared making bold goals and statements. We know Meyer and Saban aren't shy about there desires to win a NC.
I played one intramural football game against Stephenson. This must've been 1978 or 1979, and I distinctly remember that we pretty much got crushed by his team. He must've graduated, because this was in the fall of course, perhaps he was grad assistant? But what really stood out was during the pre-game warm-ups, I remember Stephenson running patterns straight down the sideline catching passes behind his back with both hands against the small of his back! He was pretty cocky or confident of course, though not real big, but he had the swagger! However, I caught a touchdown pass against his team over the top their D, finding the ball in lights as it was a night game! It's a moment I will never forget, he and his team was quite pissed. Apparently they had yet to be scored upon...but lost like 35-7! Regardless, I am thrilled by the wave emotion reported in his post that the Michigan swagger and toughness is returning!!!
other considerations if Harbaughs unavailable like:
-Paul Johnson
-Mark Richt
-chip Kelly (Florida looking into)
-Todd Graham
-always wanted Chris Peterson but unlikely
Whomever has to be really bright, demanding and able to "sell" against Meyer, Franklin, Anderson & Dantonio.
how Schiano's name keeps coming up? Modest and short term success at one school in a lesser conference. What recruiting ties does he have in the Midwest? Please no.
Although I believe he is better coach than Hoke he too has difficultly articulating a full sentence! But also, his teams seem to so often stumble through the first half or longer and then barely win in the end simply because of their superior athletes versus great coaching in my opinion.
the Weiss firing allows us not to be the only program in the news for firing their HC, offering some deflection albeit minor due to the once storied stature of our program.
the theory on the batter's running swing?? I don't watch much softball except this time of year, so I am yet to see a batter successfully strike the ball on this approach. It seems dumb to me except it worked for Happy Gilmore, but that ball wasvstationary! Thx!
I wonder if our coach, who was very successful of our club program is ultimately experienced enough to be successful at the D1 level? I thought it was fair our AD gave him a shot because of that club success, but obviously high level club and D1 are dramatically different. I realize this is his only second year too, so it may be too soon to judge. But I am curious what other lax experts on this blog think?

Just keep running and running it!!!!
Never liked the all white and never liked the stripe on the white pants. Love the traditional but also love the all blue as much if not more.

Tired of the white pants and I am beginning to think they are the jinx on our team now too!

Seriously...what freaking lucky dribblers to keep them alive. After such stellar pitching.
Shea looks really nervous. Needs a little time to settle in. Hopefully the D can get a stop.
