So much of the UT stuff reminds me of the Hoke-Brandon era though. Watching your beloved team just flounder is difficult to watch. Unless it's Sparty, schadenfreude!

That's exactly what is going on at UT right now. I don't feel sorry for them because we went through that. I don't feel sorry for anyone with regard to sucking at college football because we did it from 2008 to 2014, save 2011, of course, which was a pretty lucky season, anyway.

I thought it was pretty good. It's getting better, especially when you have gold to work with like a 41-0 Tenn loss and LSU losing to Troy.

I cannot believe Tennessee got their asses handed to them like that. Butch Jones is probably on his way out. PJ Fleck is probably going to have a better job soon. UT, ND, UF...
EDIT: Although, UF is winning still. Perhaps McElwain won't be getting fired after all, depending on how the season ends, along with the guys involved with the credit card fraud.

The schedule didn't look that great going into the weekend, so it's no suprise that there was very little schadenfreude. But I loved, loved, loved the Tennessee misery. Don't know if that's sarcasm or not but that one Vol fan wanting to get Austin Peay's coach...wow.
Wake Forest had Florida State on the ropes until very late. An 0-3 FSU team would have been AWESOME and made for some beautiful schadenfreude but it wasn't meant to be.

Fire him now. Promote Hoak to interim HC, and start the search.
Do we tell them how this ends, folks? I think we should.
Eh, never mind. They'll figure it out.

Some people wanted Lane Kiffin back. That's like us bailing and asking Rich Rod to come back to AA.

Or they won't. Which would be much better. Most best would be Hoke claiming he would have climbed Rocky Top, barefooted, for the job.

So not that Michigan defeated Florida who defeated UT, does that mean that the team is now Champions of Life? Or does the order of defeat matter, e.g. UM would've had to beat UF after UF beat UT?

And it may not even be wrong.

There is that old saying about how those who don't know history are doomed to repeat it. (paraphrasing George Santayana).
Michigan's experience after Lloyd Carr despite being played out over 7 years and in a very public fashion seems to be lost on Tennesee and LSU.
1. A good AD has to be about more than style and appearance.
2. A good head coach needs to do more than just one facet of the job well. On the football side there is offense, defense, special teams, recruiting and in game decision making. On the campus side there is representing the school, dealing with the alumni, fan base and the public.
3. A good head coach can't just be good at one facet (Rodriguez with offense) and be weak in the other aspects. Hoke was great on the campus side but never quite got a handle on the football side. He did bring us Jabril Peppers but never got the OL going or develop Devin Gardner as a QB.
4. Both of these places really need a Jim Hackett figure to sort things out, calm people down and find a solid hire.

Shark humper is only a loss away too. That team is hanging on by a thread.
