Wake up! It's Game Day!
Good morning MGoCommunity!
It's a beautiful day for football, and I'm excited for the first road test of the year. I'm hoping the running game can build upon some of its improvements from last week. I'm sure I speak for most, but I would also like to see the OL settle in a bit. I have to admit, as bad as Nebraska is, I'm still a bit nervous because Lincoln is never an easy place to grab a victory.
What are you all doing before the 3:30 kick? I'll be getting a few odds and ends done around the house before I take the family to a local farm to get some pumpkins and squash.

tumultuous, short sleep. one of the sons hurt his knee pretty badly last night in the 4th quarter. we'll see how badly this week.
college-playing son is also out again this week, but hopefully playing next.
did the barn chores before sun rise. tractor time later. at some point i'll knock out a mountain bike ride and a run. hoco for the high school kids.

collective thank you to va/wendy/HB. i'm down about it myself, but of course not letting on. it means so much to all the boys and we've never had a significant injury from football - blessed in that regard given all the boys and all the football they've played. . we'll see how bad it is, but i'm afraid his season is over. he is so exceptionally quick and plays so hard. kills me.

With low to mid 90s heat expected in Lincoln for this game, getting it over quicker might work better. If Michigan can silence the crowd early on, they might want to leave the stadium.
Hopefully, things will according to plan for the Maize and Blue.

Watch some golf, go for a run, fix a drywall hole in the garage ceiling because my son can’t keep the shower curtain tight to the wall, cut the grass, take pics of my daughter before her last homecoming dance, then watch the game.

Meanwhile, my high school freshman granddaughter has her very first homecoming dance this evening. I'll be picking her up afterwards and can't wait to see my daughter's pictures of her.

Being forced to go get breakfast with wife's friend at a fancy place. I simply can't spend $20 on bacon and eggs and enjoy it. A surefire way to feel both ripped off and disappointed since it won't be any better than homemade or the waffle house.

Never had grits until the first day I stepped on board my boat at the Charleston Navy Yard. Didn't know what it was, but it looked like cream of wheat. So that's how I treated it, with butter and sugar. The southern boys were horrified, but it worked for me.

Man, I miss Sunday morning Waffle House since we moved from Atlanta. Used to see Dr. J at the Roswell Rd/Northridge location all the time. Everyone usually left him alone with his breakfast, but it was cool to just see the legend!

I actually will be installing moulding in one room during the noon games. Fortunately, it will be in a room where I can also watch the noon games, and I should be done in time for Michigan's kick, so that works out.

I'm currently practicing stoicism. Meditate, appreciate. Planning for the day. Do some upper body/core exercises, maybe mow the lawn. Watch the game either in real-time or on the DVR. Try not to ingest too many calories.
I think it's going to be a hard-hitting game, definitely a red-circle game for the Huskers. I want the Defense to make a national championship statement that takes Nebraska's hopes and dreams and crushes them like a pecan. I want the offense to establish the run, and do some play action, keeping it relatively easy for JJ, stress-free. I want a mistake-free game that in the end is a comfortable win for the Wolverines.

Starting a couple of loaves of sourdough bread (two day process), working out, yard cleaning, game time. I missed last week's game due to a family engagement so really looking forward to today's game.

I made a sourdough starter when I was about 10. Used it primarily for sourdough pancakes. So much awesome!
My mom threw it out after I left for college. Said it “smelled funny”. She then tore down all my homemade shortwave radio antennas because they “looked messy”.

I grew my starter during Covid using organic grapes. It was pretty gnarly looking and smelling during that process but now it's awesome.

Heading down to Comerica to see Miggy one more time! Mrs. Attack will be featuring a boot/knee scooter combination to accompany the 3 fractures in her leg/foot. But it was her idea. She really wanted the commemorative Cabrera shirts.

Enjoy! Downtown Detroit was rocking last night (I was there and didn't get home until almost 2am this morning). Today and tomorrow both promise to be even better; I'll have one TV tuned in to the 🐯 Tigers and the other two CFB most of the day.
First things first, though---heading out soon for 20 miles on the bike trail before occupying the couch the remainder of the day.

It was incredible! We usually avoid big attendance games due to my horrible anxiety. But I'm so glad we were there. The pregame tributes were incredible. Leyland just might have gotten a bigger single applause than Miggy...

Pork and pepperpalooza over here. Cooking up a bunch of ribs with Hatch chile bbq sauce, some pork belly, and Pueblo Chile biscuits. Then roasting a bunch of different peppers which should get everyone through the winter.

This morning and partial afternoon is another (hopefully final) day of furniture shopping for older son's apartment after the "Dad, it's raining from the ceiling" event several months ago.
Once that's done, going to park myself in my favorite spot and watch us win by 3 TDs.
After that, I will prepare cheesey yet fluffy omelettes for the family and ponder life, the universe and everything while listening to happy family chatter.

Made waffles for the fam this morning (Mrs. Bluenote and the puppy). Chilling for a little bit while she teaches a piano lesson, then taking the pup for a SxS 4 wheeler ride to a really nice leash-free dog park nearby. Home in plenty of time for the game and some serious shucking of cornhuskers.

Waking up with a big cup of Paul Newman's dark roast and College GameDay. ("Rudy got wait listed" is my favorite sign so far.)
Gotta take the kid to work, then will take the wife out to breakfast at the original house of pancakes and then car shopping since her lease is up in a few weeks.
