He already got a medical redshirt from last year, so he was coming back next fall anyways.

Everyone knows why he was out last year, and it seemed from what I've read that he's made a significant impact on defense this year. That freshman that was playing is out too, are they hurting at safety or do they have sufficient depth?

He was making a big impact at "star" or nickle back as it were. Christian Bryant (frosh) is now going to start. CJ Barnett, safety/soph is out for the year if that is what you meant (?) who is now replaced with Ohrian Johnson (who was actually the presumed starter coming into the year). Depth is there but it is defnitely being tested early. TBD on that front.

What's the word on Nate Oliver? I'm from Cleveland so I read a ton about him in the newspapers, especially after he committed to OSU. Is he an option now, or has he even cracked the 2-deep?

Nate Oliver is Johnson's backup now. He's been playing on special teams, but I can't remember him doing anything super memorable.
Oliver did get most of the reps when Moeller was held out this spring, so they might put him in, but I don't know.

How is he related to the Moeller family who were at Michigan?

The Moellers were from Ohio I think.. and Gary played for Woody at Ohio State.
