...days until Steve Everitt steps inside Michigan stadium, goes to the Michigan sideline, and watches the Wolverines destroy Hawaii.

Steve played center for Michigan from 1989 to 1992. As a freshman, he started all twelve games. In 1990 and 1991, he split the duties with Matt Elliott and as a senior, Steve started all twelve games (that team went 9-0-3...aren't you glad ties are no longer an option?). Steve was selected as a first-team player on the 1992 All-Big Ten Conference football team.

The Cleveland Browns selected Steve in the first round (fourteenth pick) of the 1993 draft. He spent three seasons with that franchise (playing in forty-six games). In 1997, Steve  signed a five-year contract with the Eagles, for whom he played three years. He was released in 2000, which is when Steve signed a two-year deal with the Rams. His NFL career spanned eight years.

It shouldn't be that long technically as camp starts on August 8th, which is also when the threads of wild speculation based on the relative trickle of information which flows from the camps will also begin.

That being said, I honestly believe that sometimes - during the doldrums of June and July - that some people look to this site as some manner of football methdone clinic, only to be horribly disappointed by the pop and light snacks being served in some threads.

Basically, he's been a Viking forever. Not the Minnesota kind, but the "rape and pillage, invade the entire continent of Europe, discover America, and carve your name into the fucking Hagia Sofia" kind of Viking. Dude is not to be fucked with. And Vikings were so awesome.

Don't let Sal Quattro hear you say that...

no one should replicating anything the Vikings did because the Vikings were murderous thieves who were the moral equivalent of the Conquistadors and Slave Traders. They were bad human beings. The name "Viking" needs to be seen in the same light as those two. They are not worthy of admiration whatsoever. The bizarre and quite frankly offensive softening of the Viking into something innocuous needs to be ended. We need to stop mythologizing the Vikings and see them for what they were-- thugs. Yes, they were great seafarers and warriors, but they used those skills to steal, slaughter, and in some places colonize. *rant over*

This has to be one of the greatest rants I've ever read on MGoBlog. So much hatred for the Vikings.

This 115-foot Viking longboat just sailed by my office in Detroit.  It's on its way to Bay City and then may tour around the state.

There is a snag to their plans - the US required them to have a Pilot the entire time on the lakes and the current bill is over $400K.  After the Bay City Tall Ship celebration they may have to leave the Great Lakes.  Why this boat would need a $9K a day pilot is beyond me.

Just 51 more days of having to put up with nothing but baseball, golf, and tennis.

At this point, I can't wait to just have two minute practice segments.
