Tennessee Football Written Up with 18 Level I Violations

Mates,

Haven't seen this posted, and it's shocking content.  An SEC team, Tennessee no less, is getting written up for 18 Level I violations.  The former coach (Pruitt) and his wife are implicated.  They say the total is $60K, but I'm guessing they might be missing a zero...or two.

Money quote: Among other allegations, Pruitt is accused of providing about $9,000 to the mothers of two prospects. His wife, Casey, is accused of making 25 cash payments totaling about $12,500 to help a prospect's mother pay her car payment.

I'm sure there will be a very stern letter sent by the NCAA when it's all said and done, probably strong words like 'shame on you' and 'please don't do this icky stuff any more'.

This is only unsurprising because Tennessee is Alabama's permanent crossover "rival".  You may note that Tennessee has been a train wreck either since Saban showed up or this crossover paradigm was put in place.

Spent a night in Knoxville on campus couple weeks ago and while the campus was very nice it felt so empty and no soul.  There was no one on campus. I am use to AA which is always alive even in the middle of summer.

Watching our bball tourney game against Tennessee right now, noticing that there are about 10 assistant coaches on the Vol bench. Must be some NIL experts in there...

Observation: I'm going to miss Sophomore Frankie Collins

So...will they crack down on the rest of the SEC as well? Like someone else said - the timing is ridiculous: NIL has arrived now so what's the point?

It's crazy that this will get punished but it appears that no one will really go down in the college basketball scandal (sure some coaches got fired but they moved on and the schools didn't suffer any penalty). The NCAA has coaches on FBI wiretap talking about offering recruits $100k+. One of the targets in that probe just coached Kansas to a national championship. And KU's opponent in that title game was UNC which ran a fake academic program for it's athletes for decades and also went unpunished.

Enforce the rules or change them.
