So where does Michigan end up in the bracket?

Whether UNC or MSU is the 1 seed in the Midwest, I think the other one gets the 2 seed there.  Tennessee gets the 2 seed in the South, probably with Virginia.  The question is whether Michigan goes to the East in Duke's regional or West into Gonzaga's.

There's also a chance that Virginia stays as the #1 seed, which they have earned based on their resume.  3 losses, twice to Duke and once to Florida State, who is probably a 3 seed.  Virginia is also, I think, #1 in every one of the committee's metrics.  I wouldn't mind going to the East to face Virginia.

If we are paired with Gonzaga, the 3 seed should be Florida State.  If we go elsewhere, it should be LSU, since they can't go to a region with Tennessee or Kentucky.

We sometimes forget the committee's mantra: "Body of Work over the whole season".

We are getting credit for November / December non-conf wins over UNC and Villanova more than we think.

Can't wait to see Eric Musselman's douchebag antics in round 2 with his hot wife in the post-game interview.

Michigan will start off on the heartland against Montana, beat a mid-major, head out to SoCal to beat a team from Texas, and then beat Florida St. to go to the Final Four. I know this because I have already seen this.

Nevada is an excellent team.  By no means do I think we will win comfortably.  They are athletic.

My guess is when the score was 60-55 with under 3 minutes to go the committee thought Michigan will win this and stuck State in the East and Michigan in the West and gave the brackets to CBS. Then our offense took over from there!

Actually sounds pretty legit- and if true, this is the ONLY time I'd even consider being ok with stalling at the exact time we did for an unintentional but likely monumental bait and switch.

Hope it means we got a 'lose the battle but win the war' kind of path out of this- Go Blue!

I already knew that Michigan losing today would probably be better for their NCAA tournament seeding because it was discussed in one of the ESPN shows before the game.

It was stated that the Big 10 tournament champion would most likely be placed in Duke's region. I naturally still wanted us to win.

Yeah, I was going to come back on here and pretty much state what you just posted. It's about a location reward first and foremost. So the team and their fans can do the least traveling.

Most high seed teams want to be placed in a location where they will probably get lots of crowd support, which usually means being in the region closet to their home fans.

how the committee put MSU with Duke has to be questioned?  Especially since they had Duke as the overall 1, MSU 6 and UM 8, would argue for UM to be in Duke's bracket. I also think the Louisville/LSU combo is tougher than Nevada/TT.

I'm not complaining of course.
