statement saying this is nothing for reasons x, y, z, then we need to assume he's actually checking out ND and possibly Ohio for real.  Hopefully, in the end after the visit(s), it will just reaffirm his Michigan commitment.

It'd be great to get Kirkland here.  It seems like we've been getting highly rated DBs lately with more under-the-radar LBs.  Kirkland is the composite #5 ILB in his class with offers from Texas, Oklahoma, Oregon, and a bunch of other top programs.

I can imagine how that conversation goes:

BK: So who's on the schedule?

JS: Well, we need to get some big names now that we are stuck with 5 games a year against the ACC

BK: We still have USC, right?

JS: Yep.

BK: What about Michigan?

JS: Don't ever mention that name again.

BK: How about someone from the SE...

JS: Let's just stop it right there.

BK: Ok, let's just keep playing MSU then.

JS: Sounds good.

DB: So Brady help me setup this OOC schedule this year.

BH: OK Boss!

DB: I'll name 2 teams and you chose the opponent.

BH: OK Boss!

DB: Appalachian St or Something more interesting and harder

BH: OK Boss!

DB: AppSt it is.

DB: Now... Which Michigan Directional schools should we pick?

BH: All of them?

DB: Western, Central, Eastern..  OOC Done!  Now to get those suckers....errr..fans to swallow it and pay out the ass for those tix.

But I would like it better if it were more like a personnel work review. Good news, bad news, then another good news. I would most certainly be thrilled with Kirkland Jr. C'mon Mattison, do your stuff!

Last year where I just don't care about football recruiting anymore. I'll show up on Saturdays and cheer for the old maize and blue, but I just can't stress about what 16 and 17 year old kids do or say. Not healthy for me!

I liked Hoke much better when he stood by his word- if you are a commit you cannot visit other schools.  Want to visit others?  You can de-commit first, explore your options, and choose to commit wherever at a more appropriate time

Notably, Hoke has not yet commented so the policy is still very much in place. Sam Webb explained that it will not be bent for Crawford or anyone. And Shaun considering himself a Michigan commit is a very different thing from our coaches considering him one. They WILL recruit his spot if he visits any other school, and will still continue to recruit him as any other uncommitted prospect they are interested in.

I'm wondering has he informed the coaches on these visit plans. According to policy he would now be considered a de-commit if he actually goes through with the visits.

Hoke's policy is often misconstrued. The way you stated it isn't how it works (it certainly isn't a blanket policy).

I think Hallet is wrong. I can't remember a recruit who visited who remained a "commit" according to the staff. Most continued to be recruited, and some re-committed, but once they visited, their spot was open and recruited.

"U-M will recuit others for that spot" /= "Michigan Commit"

We have is really talented cornerback's. It could very well be that Crawford is afraid he will have a better chance of starting at nd or Ohio.

I do not think that is the case. I think he will probably stay blue. Just poking a little fun at the naysayers. Michigan's cornerbacks are really talented though.

On this one. Recruiting takes way to much of my time now, I end up getting pissed when one of our stud recruits leaves or flips after other show interest, it never use to be like this with Michigan but it seems to happen a lot now.

Actually, it's not too hard to understand.  If a commit visits elsewhere then Hoke has made it plain he will continue to recruit the position.  At that point, it really just depends if he can recruit over the kid.  If he doesn't and the kid still wants to come to UM after his visits then all is fine - like Dawson.  Problems surfaced in the past when the player didn't advise the staff of his intention to visit elsewhere at which point the staff discontinued recruiting the player.
