Rumor Hoops Game vs. MSU Postponed
Multiple folks are commenting on it on Twitter. Any confirmation?
Also, what's the deal here? Today there was a report that two guys that couldn't play vs. Rutgers were supposedly back. That should give the team 10+ players. Did like five guys get wiped out with it tonight?

IM GONNA MAKE IT SLOPPY FOR ALL U.
NOOOOOO GAME!!!’ Ahahahahahah

Intel elsewhere hinting at a positive test as (Big).
My assumption is Howard.
Supposed to get two guys back.
Very odd.

So Howard has it? That shouldn't prevent the team from playing, there are other coaches.
Only logical explanation is that a bunch of kids tested positive tonight that did not positive earlier today.

could be coming from MSU's end

Poster on 247 is saying it's internal with UM.

Poster in Mgoblog is saying you did it.

Just a guess. More staff was rumored to have it and the media spoke with Martelli, not Howard yesterday.

Sparty is ducking us.

Sounds like this is being called on UM's end. Poster on 247 saying it. Also, MSU just had their shootaround tonight at Crisler. They had their whole team available earlier this week, would have had to have an enormous breakout for like six kids to be wiped out in an hour or two.

I know you’re a Sparta fan but at least you don’t hide it.

Ha! I just scrolled through his/her posting history, like a spokesperson for their AD

Damn, guess I can't watch the game i was almost certainly not going to watch.

East Lansing high school had less than half of its students show up for class today, covid is running rampant in the Lansing/East Lansing area, and by rampant I mean absolutely ridiculous wtf are we doing levels of stupidity. Sparrow Hospital the trauma 1 center in Lansing has over 200 staff out with illness.

It wouldn't surprise me at all, with records being set almost daily in new cases in Michigan and elsewhere; according to a report I saw a day or two ago on local TV, the positivity rate has been in the upper 20's/low 30's much of the week.
When looking at my ESPN app a moment ago I see that WMU @ CMU was called off.
January 8th, 2022 at 12:48 AM ^
Washtenaw County's health department has it at 23% last week.

Yeah these positivity numbers are just insane. Same thing in NY, Florida and large parts of California. At this rate, literally the entire country will have omicron in less than a month. Just crazy. I’m starting to think the super bowl is going to get delayed.

Balas saying it’s looking that way, official announcement in the morning.

I'm all for it

The tickets I just bought on StubHub will be good for the re schedule, right?
January 8th, 2022 at 12:54 AM ^
RCMB will say that we are ducking them. It's not surprising given that we already had a covid outbreak against Rutgers.
January 8th, 2022 at 12:56 AM ^
The weird thing is that MLive reported earlier today that two of the guys out vs. Rutgers are available for tomorrow. So that should give the team more than enough guys. Apparently there was some mass breakout they found out about tonight?

A msu grad is the one who forced us to shutdown with zero positive tests last year for 3 weeks as a Top 3 team in the country.
Which also possibly played a role in Livers injury.
Instead of wiping the floor with their faces two times, we played them back to back which basically gave them their only chance at winning.

Hopefully the hockey game goes on as planned as I was actually looking forward to that one.

This was probably not the time to be giving out Krispy Kremes.
Get back early in the morning

Could be on the MSU side

Would explain the UM -2 line
January 8th, 2022 at 5:14 AM ^
As bad as this team is this ....could be a blessing
January 8th, 2022 at 6:45 AM ^
Is this team really bad or are they just not very good?
January 8th, 2022 at 11:19 AM ^
RCMB has 15+ active threads dedicated to UofM. They have more threads on Michigan than we do. ???

I should not have visited that site. Those guys are bitter and very angry. They seem intent at yelling at the clouds.

UM and Harbaugh winning the B1G championship has them in a lather, especially since they won the fluky game in EL and UM still received praise by the pundits because of the officiating. They had clung to “Harbaugh never won anything” but that’s gone. They really needed a BB win to soothe their egos.
The essence of little brotherhood is on full display by that fanbase.

Will Rutgers be next to cancel/ postpone games?
