People Who Call Sports Talk Radio Are Morons (but you probably already knew that)

OMG dumbest caller in the history of sports talk (quite an honor).  These people need to read MgoBlog more (or at all).  Glad to know the readers here do not call talk radio shows.  I'm paraphrasing here slightly, but this was the general flow of the call:

Caller: Why don't they put Feagin in, he's perfect for Rich Rod's offense?

Karsch: I've watched him at practice, he's nowhere near ready

Caller: But wasn't he the 2nd best QB coming out of high school behind Pryor?

Karsch: Um, no he wasn't even close to being the 2nd best.

Caller: But in the 2nd half, when they really needed someone to open up the offense, why not put him in?

Karsch: Are you saying that they should put Feagin in, a guy who is nowhere near ready to throw the ball in college, over your best passer in a situation where you need to move the ball and score points?  That doesn't make any sense.

Anyway, wow, dummmm.

Also - what do you guys think of Karsch?  I like him, he's a real Michigan homer which is awesome.  I guess he predicted that Michigan would win that game, wow what a pick.  I bet he was feeling like a total idiot in the first half.

Agreed on sports talk callers, I often have to turn off the radio when a particulary bad caller gets through because I can't stand it.  Especially when someone calls in and asks a question that could be answered with Google and 2 minutes of free time (which the person obviously has since he/she is waiting on hold).  Examples: "Why isn't Antonio Bass playing, he looked good 2 years ago?" ... "How many years are left on [insert old, overpaid Detroit Tiger here]'s contract?  The Tigers need to trade him for young starting pitching."

Karsch is solid, I like him (obviously his affection for Michigan helps).  A lot of people hate Valenti, but I actually like him.  He's over the top quite a bit (and a Sparty too), but I find him entertaining.  Can't stand Pat Caputo (he constantly interrupts Fithian) and Sean Beligian.

Valenti is pretty hilarious, and seems alright for a Sparty.  I think his boss might have had him tone down the Sparty homer-ness after the show following the App State game, though, because there was a pretty obvious lack of the word "arrogant" following that show.

Hi there. You know, I like RichRod, but I think he's missing the boat here.  Cant we put Odoms or Robinson back there at QB because they can throw as well as Threet, but run much better.

Oh, and the Tigers need starting pitching. What about trading Matt Joyce and Freddy Dolsi to the Indians for a package that inlcudes Cliff Lee and Carmona. I think that would entice them to deal and help bring us back to the World Series.

Thanks, and I will hang up and listen.

The talk radio screeners are taught to only put dumb people through, that way they can make ridiculous statements and get you all to road rage.  The only time you'll hear a semi-intelligent person is when nobody else is calling in.

Caller: I know it's only been one game, but they need to get rich of this new guy.

Caputo: Which new guy?  The coach?

Caller: Yeah, it's obvious this guy can't coach.  We should have tried to get Pete Carroll or Urban Meyer instead.

Pretty much the CFB equivalent of "We need to trade Darko for Shaq" or whatever.

= match made in Satan's bowels. Not the bowels of the abyss, you did not read that wrong: Satan's shit station. Sports radio is essentially stupid as is, only when the callers call in do you truely appreciate the stupidity of the average member of most (not all) fanbases.

TL;DR, you think it's bad up there, tune in to Columbus sports talk every once in a while. Your IQ will drop about fifty points in five minutes because dumb is rather contagious down here.
