It's a weird move in one sense, but if he turns YSU into one of those scary non-AQ teams that picks up a couple scalps a year, he'll be back coaching in the Power 5 shortly.

Even if he's just 'good' at YSU, I have to imagine he's back in FBS within 2-3 years. No way a lot of FBS schools aren't also saying wtf in Pelini's direction. A 9+ win coach dropping to FCS? Someone will poach him on FBS resume alone

Ohio now has Bo Pelini, Terry Bowden, Frank Solich and Tommy Tubberville coaching at schools in that state. None of them OSU.

I'm the only one who'd have brought Hoke back, and I'm the only one who thinks Pelini is a good coach. Life is interesting in an alternate universe.
