OT: PFF preseason rankings for rookie DE's (Taco Charlton listed)
Saw a tweet from PFF, where they graded rookie DE preseason performances:
Not sure how to embed a tweet, but here's a link for reference.
For context, their highest rated DE's overall (not just rookies) were Cameron Jordan, Chris Smith, and Aaron Lynch, at 87.8, 87.1, and 85 respectively.
From what I've gathered, it sounds like Taco had a bit of an up and down preseason, but hopefully he's able to improve over the regular season.

Is ED a typo?

I'm pretty sure it stands for Edge Defender, and they group 3-4 OLBs and 4-3 DEs together.

Ok. That makes more sense than a polished outfit like PFF making a typo.

I just keep wondering how long that will take to change.

I'm sure the Lions would be more than happy to take Taco off their hands for a third-round draft pick.

Taco really struggled in the Hall of Fame game so most of the negativity is derived from that. Talking heads here were telling fans that it would be another year of anemic pass rush, but don't worry, the boys could put it right be drafting well in 2018. And then a light went on for Taco and he put up some quite credible performances in the following pre-season games. So much so that there is no longer talk of him being a draft bust, but rather of him being a real contributor.
BTW, both Taco and J. Lewis made the 53 man roster.

He's ready to come back to practice and cutting him would be crazy.
