OT: need help...
need some help from the A2 people out there... i have an interview tomorrow in ann arbor and i have to go to 1000 s. state street... i've done searches on the address and it comes back with numerous things but never tells me what building i'm looking for... the companies website isn't much help either (yes its a real job)... so can anyone out there tell me what i should be looking for tomorrow???
Um, Google lists this as:
1000 South State Street
Ann Arbor, MI 48109-2201
(734) 647-2583
umich.edu |
I even recognize the houses across from the building...get there early and try knocking on the door at Schembechler Hall (not trying to be a jerk).
what i thought it was when the person i'm meeting gave me the address, but i asked my wife who is an michigan alum and she said no... thanks for your help...
divorce your wife for that .
It's the athletic department. Enter at the corner of State and Hoover.
He will be offering you a red pill and a blue pill. For your sake, I say take the blue pill, but hey, ignorance is bliss.
And I know you said it was a real job... trust me...
How would you have an interview with the athletic department and not know who you're interview for? Sounds like you have a lot of preparing to do...
that i'm interviewing with is doing the food service for the suites and club seats at the stadium... so i do know who i'm interviewing with, i just didn't know where exactly to go... but thanks for the advice... :)
...on your interview.
Only in my dreams will I ever be able to afford to sit in the luxury suites or the club seating, so I will never get to sample the food service cuisine. However, in my dreams, the food is delicious.
Good luck on your interview.
They serve that "maize and blue" pasta they sell at the M-Den? I hope they wouldn't dye the sauce. That would be weird.
Funny, I have an interview with the local D3 school's athletic department tomorrow with no idea what my job would be either. Hell, there never was even a job posting. I just emailed the aSID toward the end of baseball season and he found something for me.
The guy also couldn't tell me what building it was in. He was like, go to the athletic offices, I have no idea what room I'm in. Maybe 213. I'm the one right past the softball office.
Good luck tomorrow.
...on your interview.
Thank you, sir.

If you find the right office, the job is yours.
I had of an interview for an internship-to-newly-created-position job I had at a private college once. They wanted to create an SID, and I got called for an interview. "Come to the main building. Give them my name. I'll come get you."
Well, I did, and I guess they don't use cell phones at that school, because they had to call about 15 numbers before they found the guy. No formal office, so he sorta floated around everywhere, working wherever there was space open.
Yeah, with the appointment being after business hours anyway, I figure it might be some thing similar. We have a few aSIDs, so I wouldn't be surprised if this was something even more vague as this won't be a full time thing.
....I hope you can do 50 one handed push up on your knuckles...
Before I read this thread I thought you were just being a dick about having an interview in the Athletic Department and making us tell you. Kinda like "Oh, I what did I shoot on that hole? Was it a hole in one? I don't remember!"
Now I'm just really excited for you. Hope it all works out!
Good luck.
You'll do great! Let us know how it went!
What will be on the menu in the suites and Club Level that us regular folks in the real stands cannot have?
menu is huge and it pretty much offers anything you would want to eat while watching football... i only glanced at it and i saw stuff from hot dogs to surf and turf...
the interview went great and i pretty much have the job as soon as i mail back the application... this would be the greatest job in the world... there are so many more things to the job that the posting didn't describe... but unfortunately i'm going to have to turn it down because its not full time... i was told i could work as many hours as possible but wouldn't be classified as full time until later in the year when he picks 8 or 9 people out of the 40 he is hiring to keep on as full time employees... before you ask what does it matter if its full time or part time, the reason why i need full time is because then the job offers benefits... plus i really hating cooking and i want to quit my part time job...
...the update and good luck finding a full time, non-cooking job (with benefits).
