OT: Interesting Errol Morris article in NYT on awareness of one's own incompetence

Main point:  The skills one uses to solve problems are the same as those one uses to know whether or not one's solution is correct.  In other words, smart people know they're correct and idiots don't know they're being stupid.

and can be hobbled by that knowledge, while the idiots are blissfully unaware that they're ignorant and blunder ahead, sometimes succeeding in spite of it all. That's really irritating.
