If BTN could have left well enough alone, none of this would have happened. Now you have 6 or so programs that will have to make a real decision about the viability of maintaining their programs. I can't blame ND, Miami, et al for making moves once it became apparent that they'd be left out in the cold. Increasingly, the people happy with the B10 Hockey league include and are limited to Michigan, Wisconsin, and MSU fans.

survey monkey is a third party data collection service that tons of professionals, academics, and the like use to host online measurement tools.
survey monkey is not unlike a lot of online services...you can pay for a membership and use the service ad free OR you can use a limited version of the service and be subjected to advertising.
in this case, after you take the survey, it dumps you onto a page advertising one of survey monkey's membership options/services. that's it. there's nothing nefarious going on here. if you had taken ten seconds and googled survey monkey, you would have very quickly been able to discern that.

Why in the name of christ are you congratulating this Tyler from Durham character. Sounds like a whiny baby with some serious reading comprehension problems.
Rittenberg clearly didn't say Alabama's helmets were better than Michigan's. And even if he did, it's like, an opinion, man. And a perfectly acceptable one at that. There is no objective way to quantify best and certainly no "right" answer. It's a matter of taste and clearly subjective. Anyone who wishes to to assert otherwise has a small penis.
The fact that someone would take the time to write Rittenberg over this is mind-bottling and clearly indicative of an individual with some real first world problems.
Tyler from Durham, fuck you. Fight me, do it, you won't.

One former Michigan player beat OSU a couple times, won a NC, won a Rosebowl, won a Heisman, won a defensive player of the year award in the NFL, and gave a ton of money to help improve the lives of sick children.
Another former Michigan player lost to OSU in his senior season, never won a Rosebowl, never won a NC, never won a Heisman, has gotten multiple DUIs (one of which he called "BS" in today's press), insitigated a fight with Lebron James' entourage, and gave money to an atheletic department who didn't need it in order to stoke his own ego. This player also has an obnoxious, terribly unarticulate father who needs to stop calling into sports talk radio shows.
Why do we hear so much about one guy and next to nothing about the other? Whenever I hear this Braylon talk, I immediately want to talk about former Michigan players who deserve adulation on the basis of their ability to be adults who inspire others both on the field and off.

Here's my message to leftrare:
The post you created on March 9th, 2011 at 2:11 PM is an unmitigated embarrassement to your entire genetic lineage and every single person who has ever associated with you in any context, however briefly. As you so kindly provided your college graduation date in your in signature (lol), I estimate your age to be somewhere between 47 and 51. In more direct terms, I would like to point out that you are a fully grown, middle-aged man who took time out of his day to write an obnoxiously concieted, "Dear Santa" type letter to the board of trustees at Ohio State. Now, I certainly understand that one's mid-life brings about a variety of challenges to the ego. However, deal with those issues in the way that men have always dealt with those issues. That is, sign up for an account on Ashley Madison, or buy a Miata, or mail-order a fleshlight, or put some peanut butter on your balls and let the dog lick it off, or whatever. Today, you have lost the Internet and, for that, you win nothing. You should be ashamed, embarrassed, and hopelessly so.

|03/04/2011 - 7:02pm||Michigan Stadium is the||
Michigan Stadium is the biggest stadium and, I think, certainly one of the top 5 coolest stadiums in the country - if for no other reason than its size.
At the same time, I think it's perfectly acceptable to place other stadiums ahead of it. There are certainly some really annoying things about the Big House. Like, I saw a game at Autzen this year. At half time, I was able to take a piss, smoke a joint in the parking lot, buy some hotdogs, and return to my seat by kickoff. You'd be hard-pressed to hiot the head in that time at the Big House.
And, there are certainly any number of cultural dynamics at play here. If you grew up a LSU fan, well, no one is ever going to "prove" to you that there is a better atmosphere than Saturday nights in BR.
Anyway, the Big House rules and lists of this ilk are useless.

The University is claiming that the payouts were legal and above-board. It seems that while some folks may think the tactic to be less-than-wholesome (I do), I think it may hard to prove that it is/was gainst NCAA rules.

|12/30/2010 - 1:03am||My argument didn't fail. What||
My argument didn't fail. What am I supposed to say? I can't, as Jay Z said, "make you see the facts." You're going to see precisely what you want to see. It's just funny that you choose to talk about tradition during a time period when Michigan has very clearly prioritized making money over retaining "tradition." I mean, the CC has been propelled by the media. There's huge consideration of Michigan's "brand" here. The "Michigan Man" concept is an absurd arm of this branding endeavor. Think about it: the formalization of that term was first used to describe Steve Fisher, a man with no connection to Michigan beyond the fact that he wasn't Bill Frieder.
CFB is contigent upon the whims of the Disney empire. The Big 10/12 has taken it's current shape to support the Big Ten Network. That awful logo was designed to fit nicely in the corner of the taglines that run across the your television screen when watching the Big Ten Network. It goes on and on.
|12/30/2010 - 12:46am||Well homie you can keep||
Well homie you can keep blowing The Victors on the skin flute and pretend that CFB hasn't been irrevocably ruined by commerce. Your choice, whatever.
|12/30/2010 - 12:40am||Believing in "tradition" in||
Believing in "tradition" in the current context is juvenile. This is a big business, cousin, nothing more. Think of this:
Michigan spends millions of dollars to remodel the Big House, in which the primary thrust of of that remodel was to add luxury boxes. Thank god we preserved tradition.
Michigan hires the former CEO of fucking Dominoes Pizza. Once on the job, he repeatedly calls himself the CEO of Michigan Athletics. Again, is this tradition?
Michigan agrees to play an out of conference football game in fucking Dallas Texas. Is that tradition? Did the 1948 Michigan Wolverines travel halfway across the country because some rich asshole who wears cowboy boots with bespoke suits threw some money their way?
The aformentioned CEO of Michigan athletics seriously fucking considered moving the OSU-U of M game to the middle of season, on the premise that a rematch in the Preperation H Big 10/12 championship game wouldn't garnish the viewership numbers ideal for selling ads. Again, you can't seriously believe in tradition.
I can go on and on. Tradition, here, is a joke. Like Fritz Crisler, tradition is dead, cold, and buried in the fucking ground.

1. "2010 Heisman" means that if I had a vote, I would have voted for him THIS year.
2. I'm a bigger fan of the kids on the team than I am of the fans. Fuck the fans. I've been embarrassed to be a Michigan fan since week 6 this year.
3. It's not about being right. Like I said, I'm a bigger Denard Robinson fan than I am a fan of the institution. Denard is all that's right with amatuer sports. He seems geniunely excited to be alive, has a 100,000 kilowatt smile, and a great attitude that perhaps, just perhaps, some people who claim to be Michigan fans could adopt. Conversly, this year has shown the Michigan instiution to be all that's wrong with sports. Arrogant, in posession of class and dignity only when things are going smoothly, demands winning based solely on the fact that some dead white guys won football games a long time ago. Tradition is fake, plastic thing used to mask the commercial aspects of college sports.
4. You can go enjoy a bag of dicks.
|12/30/2010 - 12:10am||If RR is fired, I would||
If RR is fired, I would support Denard transferring to play in an offense which can give him the best opportunity to succeed over the last two years of his college eligibility and beyond. Three reasons: (1) He's my 2010 Heisman. He has a chance to actually win that award in this offense. A year's worth of chaos isn't a good thing, no matter what paradigm the new coach comes in with. And, I don't want to hear any of this Harbaugh ran a version of the spread at USD nonsense. The offense he ran there spread the field, but it's not all that similiar to what RR is doing now. (2) It would serve as an adequete punishment for those fucking knucklehead fans who lose all context and demand winning on the simple merits of "this is Michigan." (3) It would expose Brandon as an egotistical meathead who places hiring "his guy" over making a sound, reasoned decision - presuming, of course, he purues change in the manner which it is currently speculated.

No team has ever gone undefeated in Pac 10 round-robin play. Oregon was so consistently good on offense that I am hard-pressed to think that any B10 team would beat them this year. Maybe OSU because of their athletic ability defensively. Wisky doesn't have the secondary to stop Oregon from turning 10 yard plays into 60 + yard touchdowns.
