than I expected, and, yes, it is indeed Braxton Miller.

I was absolutely flabbergasted when I saw his stat line for his first three years. How in the world is this kid considered an "OMG shirtless" recruit?!? Those are incredibly pedestrian numbers for a QB at any level.

I had not really paid any attention to Miller as I knew he was a Buckeye lock, but with Michigan's "struggles" to get a QB they REALLY wanted (aplogies to Sousa, but he was a backup plan offer) I was reviewing the stats of the guys UM had offered early. I was blown away by how mediocre Miller's stat line was.

What is it that scout's and all these elite programs are seeing that cause such a love fest for this kid?

his sophmore numbers were affected by an injury, that  he had sustained. I dont think you can go off stats alone.  I think he will be a legitimate 4* prospect. Expect to see his numbers increase this year. He will merit the offers he recieved from the Elite Programs.

from Bucknuts:

Sophomore Slump – Sort Of

Miller picked up right where he left off as a sophomore improving his game in the offseason with the postseason on his mind.

Then Wayne traveled to Clayton Northmont with a perfect 5-0 record and Miller went down with a broken leg in the third quarter.

Miller was down but he wasn’t out.

“Throughout my injury, I had to sit out of school for a couple of weeks because I couldn’t walk,” he recalled. “I went to rehab everyday and hit the weight room and watched film a lot with the defensive coaches and I learned a lot last year without being (on the field).”

take it FWIW...

I still know that Gardner was and still is the better recruit to have landed...

Numbers only tell part of the story, especially for a qb. Embedded in that table you posted is an offensive line, receivers, opposing defenses, coaches' decisions, systems, etc. That is why scouts don't just look at numbers to evaluate a kid.
