Name this "Elite" recruit
Wanna play a game? If not, please don't post about how worthless this thread is, just move along, kthnx.
Based on the statistics below can you name this "Elite" 2011 football recruit?

Braxton Miller
Who is Braxton Miller....
Is it Terrelle Pryor's little brother, Derrelle Pryor?
Kidding, but those numbers are very unimpressive.
112 rushes would indicate dual threat.
Joe Boisture?
Quan Bray?
I really don't know, I'm just throwing a guess out there...
Gretzky Jr?
than I expected, and, yes, it is indeed Braxton Miller.
I was absolutely flabbergasted when I saw his stat line for his first three years. How in the world is this kid considered an "OMG shirtless" recruit?!? Those are incredibly pedestrian numbers for a QB at any level.
I had not really paid any attention to Miller as I knew he was a Buckeye lock, but with Michigan's "struggles" to get a QB they REALLY wanted (aplogies to Sousa, but he was a backup plan offer) I was reviewing the stats of the guys UM had offered early. I was blown away by how mediocre Miller's stat line was.
What is it that scout's and all these elite programs are seeing that cause such a love fest for this kid?
Potential? Not sure -- numbers aren't everything but I agree they mean something. He obviously has something going right for him in the potential category along with his measureables.
6’2 and 185#’s isn't exactly uber recruit measurables for a QB. Forcier was 6’1 184, and he’s probably closer to 5’11 than 6’1. I'd guess Miller's shorter than advertised as well.
Potential.
The offense and/or weak opponents that lead to huge stats are not there.
there is no other recruit in this class that has the same combination of speed/shiftiness and throwing ability
He's terrible. Florida, Ohio State, USC, and Michigan clearly have no clue what they're doing. How could they offer such a turdbutt quarterback who clearly has no talent?
and obviously B. Miller is not a MICHIGAN MAN. How dare you try to be rational about such things?
his sophmore numbers were affected by an injury, that he had sustained. I dont think you can go off stats alone. I think he will be a legitimate 4* prospect. Expect to see his numbers increase this year. He will merit the offers he recieved from the Elite Programs.
from Bucknuts:
Sophomore Slump – Sort Of
Miller picked up right where he left off as a sophomore improving his game in the offseason with the postseason on his mind.
Then Wayne traveled to Clayton Northmont with a perfect 5-0 record and Miller went down with a broken leg in the third quarter.
Miller was down but he wasn’t out.
“Throughout my injury, I had to sit out of school for a couple of weeks because I couldn’t walk,” he recalled. “I went to rehab everyday and hit the weight room and watched film a lot with the defensive coaches and I learned a lot last year without being (on the field).”

take it FWIW...
I still know that Gardner was and still is the better recruit to have landed...
Potential to reproduce frshman stats?
you guessed it: Frank Stallone.
Numbers only tell part of the story, especially for a qb. Embedded in that table you posted is an offensive line, receivers, opposing defenses, coaches' decisions, systems, etc. That is why scouts don't just look at numbers to evaluate a kid.
go up over his career
Bob Vila!
I think the thing to worry about is the fact the kid hasn't went a season w/o missing a game due to injury.
