But why was it in your favorites tab to begin with?
I had all of the SE Michigan media tabbed: News, Freep, Annarbor.com, Mlive, etc. Just for easy looks.
Not a single click, not a single perusal of the actual paper. Haven't missed it a bit, and will never look back.
Here
although I'm not local to MI, so it is much easier.
Not sure if we should congratulate the original poster, or ask him what took so long?
I removed that link the day they broke their stupid story. Any visits to their site since then are solely the result of posters around here making their typical "OMG EVERYBODY LOOK WHAT THE FREEP WROTE NOW" posts.
Usually I avoid them, but sometimes there will be five threads like that in a row, which leads me to become grouchy.
the Free Press is the sunday paper. Anyone know why the News does not contribute?
Has to do with their Joint Operating Agreement, which originally came about in the late 1980s... originally called for a combined News/Freep publication on Sundays. A few years ago, the Freep started publishing its own Sunday edition again, with very little Detroit News content.
since the dreaded practice hours article came out. Once you stop reading it, you realize how crappy of a paper it really is. You can get all the local news from detnews.com, and all your UM stuff right here!
newspaper readers here. Get yourself some coffee in the back. If you feel like talking, great. If not, that's OK too.
Meeting's about to start.
______ and I used to read the Free Press"
"Hi _____________"
Why has it only been a week?
curious about the follow-up to the NCAA allegations, so I spied it for a few days after that. But, no more.
How come I don't get any credit for having the judgement never to use in first place? All the accolades go to the quitters.
I've noticed that since I gave up the Freep, I've lost 10 pounds and my skin has cleared up.
Go figure.
I used to read the Free Press over the News, now I'm Free Press-free since September.
When I politely emailed several people at the Freep legitimate questions that no one answered and they gave the run around on in print I knew it was a rag. I haven't been back on the website and won't.
More than a week? I've never been a big MSM guy, but with that said, I've never really read the Freep even online and they only blipped on my radar because of Jihad. The only thing that could be held against me is that my wife likes Mitch Albom's books (Tuesdays with Morrie, 5 people you meet in heaven, etc.). Other than that, I could care less if the Freep went under.
