Michigan confirmed to appear in the new NBA 2K16 Game

Submitted by copacetic on

Apparently in the new NBA 2K16 game, in the MyCareer mode you will be able to choose from 10 schools for your player to attend, and Michigan is one of the 10. MyCareer mode follows you from high school, to college, and through the NBA.

Confirmation from 3 people with the game, Wisconsin is 10th college in NBA 2K16. Here are the other 9. pic.twitter.com/LNC8jsmpx1

I'm assuming Duke, UNC, and Kentucky politely declined.  Not sure why they would, as it's free advertising.  The only school I'm not sure about is Texas.  The others are at least close to being blue blood basketball schools.  They've all had recent success.

Remember this is mostly a popularity contest -- they are trying to sell video games. Michigan is a choice because we have the most alumni, and they tend to be everywhere and affluent etc. The rest of the list seems to mostly span the country geographically. If the goal of this is to appeal to as many gamers as possible, all over the country, this is a decent set of ten schools that play decent basketball.

Will NBA 2k16 be sold on the 360 or are they moving only to the 1? Some of my favorite gamed are now only exclusively going to be on the Xbox One. (Ex. Halo 5 will only be for Xbox 1 which is quite a shame.)

To be fair here, with Georgetown you would get a team that would inexplicably wither and pass on in the early rounds of any playoff in the game, so there is that as an alternative to "weird guys", but since they don't play in the conference nor are they a rival, it may not be all that satisfying.

are in the game, fortunately. Not those goofy tire tread unis. Only get to play a few college games though. Really wishing 2k will start making a college hoops game again, prefer that over NBA.

  1. UNC
  2. Duke
  3. Kentucky
  4. Florida
  5. Gonzaga
  6. MSU
  7. LSU
  8. Maryland
  9. Wisconsin
  10. Syracuse

That would cover the rest of the country...create "big games" to play in when you're in college...and get all of the teams that "have" to be there when you're talking college bball.

They should at least try for 16 to create a Sweet 16 and let you play that out in the tournament.

I had an issue with NBA 2k15 where I could no longer get it to launch and their support after telling me to re-install just told me to watch their twitter for patch notices.

It was obviously some sort of corrupt game cache/save information but no dice at getting actual support on it.  I guess when I wipe my pc and throw 10 on it I could play 2k15 but now that 2k16 is out, won't buy it unless I can get for under $30.
