META: Footballscoop trolling MGOBLOG as "MICHBRO"

Submitted by Bigfoot on

I'm not sure if many saw this, but a writer from football scoop posting under "MichBro1" came to defend his reporting in a thread today:

http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/cc-rumors-and-harbaugh-open-thread?page=5

The handle "MichBro" just killed me. It's stressful pounding f5, thought this might crack some people up.

EDIT: Now posting as MichBro2

Update: Now MichBro3, we've got a live one!

Per sources, Nebraska is targeting Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema and is in serious talks with him.

Quote from This footballpoop article.

"Mike Riley was the first choice. We never talked to Bielema," Perlman said. "It seems odd that you would even think that we would..."

Quote from Harvey Perlman found in This yahoo article.

Imagine some douchebags crowded around a computer giggling while picking a user name for MGoBlog that will make them "fit in."

MICHBRO. THEY'LL NEVER KNOW

I am going to go on a limb and say, after reading your comments here and the initial thread, it is because you come across as the whiny kid who wonders why everyone doesn't like them as he corrects grammar, roots for MSU, and tells stories for 5 minutes that the average human could tell in 30 seconds.

Lets call a spade a spade here. Prior to the first FBScoop article on the UM job the majority here had not heard of the scoop. Some had, and only mildly followed them at best. In fact never an ill word was spoken about them. Now that the job is open a whole bunch of "coaching search newbs" have come out of the woodwork. The issue comes about because FBScoop was the first to point out (what numerous people have in recent weeks) JH is likely to stay in the NFL if its an option. And that some in the ATH dept don't like Miles (which we all know to be true) and that they were having trouble getting traction with the top coaches (something we all believe is likely true). FBScoop was first with this so they are the enemy I get it. What made it worse was when some moron went into the comments section and pretended to be the author of the story refuting the story. Completely normal interenet sabatoge, but at that point something many fans desperately wanted to hope was real. Which began the "FBScoop doesn't know anything " type of talk. That brings us to the main point. The biggest fear of all Michigan fans(myself included). What if JH says no, and then several big coaches just use UM for leverage....again we have to settle for another coach. Not only does that mean more "maybe bowl" seasons, and losing to OSU and MSU more often then not. But what's worse what if the true MICHIGAN MAN, the chosen one, the savior doesn't care enough about Michigans fortunes to come on board. It would mean TRADITION the one thing we still can hold up high, would mean virtually nothing anymore. And that's the fear. It's not that people care about the scoop, its if the scoop is viewed as heavily accurate, than the biggest fears if Michigan fans might be happening.

No skin off my back. I don't work for FBScoop. I'm utterly diss appointed at what my tax dollars have been going towards around here. Unless you don't actually have one if these beautiful M degrees, which in that case I'm proud of it again.

If you want an explanation...

At the core, the bans are essentially for your persistently condescending, immature and generally uncivil approach to this "conversation" which you are attempting to have. In all honesty, questioning the reading comprehension of others, calling members of the board "lemmings" and things like that tend to make one the object of scorn, deserved ridicule and and eventually banning around these parts. If you really wanted to talk about this, you wouldn't do those things - it comes across as a patent troll job.

In other words, if you want to hang around and defend the credibility of FootballScoop - whether it is because it is a source of income or whatever - be a nice human being, even if being nice is a mortifying personal dongpunch in your world.

So everyone that said something immature to me gets banned too. Ok I guess I can live with that. Afterall people have said way worse to me on here, then ive said to them. If thats the standard that's fair. I really am enjoying the thought that you guys think I have anything to do with FBScoop. Do you think they care enough to come this little site? They are on the Phone with coaches, ads, agents. But thanks, maybe ill just go with it. Certainly has made me more popular here. Ill go with it. MichBro (whatever number I am now) can be your secret FBScoop.

Right because someone totally uninvolved with that site would go to these lengths to defend it. Also...

"Do you think they care enough to come this little site? They are on the Phone with coaches, ads, agents."

I believe mgoblog is the most widely read college sports blog there is, or was that specific to a certain team? Anyway, according to trafficestimate.com, mogblog has 1.3 million visits in the last 30 days and footballscoop has 225,700. LOLOL But sure, let Harbaugh know I said hi when you talk to him later.

I sincerely hope that you aren't a writer for FBScoop. You probably should work on your writing skills after reviewing this well-written comment.

Start with commas... and the difference between 'than' and 'then'.

Oh, and to call a site "little" after it's been quoted on ESPN and Olbermann is laughable.

Harbaugh likely to stay in the NFL? Yeah that was a scoop, you were on an island with that opinion. Well unless you listened to every NFL media source. And kudos for going gumshoe to discover that everyone at UofM doesn't love Miles. In other news water is wet, eh? "Coaching search newb"--Who are you quoting? Don't tell me you are guilty of thw lazy communication device of throwing quotes around your own words so that you can respond in a one sided duscussion. I guess I'd just expect higher standards from the journalistic elite group like footballscoop

If you wanted to defend you reputation state facts, explain that you believe your sources and admit that some times, unless your source is JH, they are wrong.  But in this case if you believe your source and stand behind your story.  Just say that.  People here may call you all sorts of shit but you know what you know and none of us do.  By the way you are wrong, because if you are correct it means we don't get JH.
